AR/MR Remote Collaboration helps local and remote users better understand each other’s intentions and makes collaborative activities efficient.It has been widely used in industry,healthcare,education and other fields in recent years.However,there is still a lack of relevant research in the field on how to design information systems in AR/MR collaborative environment to reduce users’ cognitive load and improve user experience.This paper is committed to studying the impact of information complexity on local users in AR/MR collaborative environment from the perspective of users and based on collaborative tasks,so as to optimize the efficiency of remote collaboration and help designers and developers design more efficient and practical AR/MR collaborative system applications.Firstly,information complexity in AR/MR collaborative environment is related to AR/MR application scenarios,information complexity and collaborative task types.Through literature research and theoretical research,this paper determines the main research content,and defines the influencing factors and evaluation methods of visual information complexity and task complexity.Secondly,in the process of information system design,the type and form of information are the most important influencing factors.This paper deconstructs the information system of AR/MR collaborative environment,divides visual information into scene information and auxiliary information,and defines its composition and classification.Based on this definition,the collaborative tasks in AR/MR collaborative environment are summarized and concluded,the smallest task unit is sorted out,and a UCEIM model suitable for user research is proposed.Then,based on the UCEIM model proposed above and the main research content,the basic experimental research is carried out in this paper.The Wizard of Oz method,eye tracking and card sorting are used to conduct experimental research on the information complexity in AR/MR、collaborative environment.This paper mainly explores the influence of information type complexity on users in the free browsing task,the influence of information attribute complexity on users in the guided search task,and the influence of information state complexity on users in the prompt collaborative task,and clarifies the influencing factors of information complexity in the AR/MR collaborative environment.At the same time,based on various eye movement indicators,this paper discusses the influence of different information complexity and task complexity on user behavior and cognitive load,verifies the effectiveness of inverted U-curve theory in AR/MR collaborative environment,proves the necessity of task-based information design in this environment,and also obtains relevant design suggestions for different tasks and environments.Finally,based on the results of theoretical and experimental research,this paper proposes the design strategy of information system in AR/MR collaborative environment based on UCEIM model.Based on the proposed design strategy,a quick design application example is given,and a collaborative tool under AR/MR collaborative environment is designed.
