A Study On The Representation And Embedding Of Traditional Culture In Chinese Style Games

In recent years,the fusion of "game+" and media has demonstrated effective communication outcomes,leading to a trend of integration with games across various fields.With the emergence of Chinese style,Chinese style games that center on traditional culture have entered the public’s consciousness.As a category of Chinese electronic games,Chinese style games possess strong Chinese national characteristics.After over three decades of development,Chinese style games have entered an era of refinement,which holds positive implications for the protection,promotion,and dissemination of traditional culture.However,due to the commercial nature and technical limitations of games,the integration of traditional culture into Chinese style games often encounters issues such as blind collage of cultural elements,lack of connotation,and low playability.This study focuses on Chinese style electronic games as the research object,drawing on relevant disciplines such as communication,game studies,and rhetoric.Through participatory observation and in-depth interviews,the study examines the development process of Chinese style games,the embedding methods and challenges of traditional culture in Chinese style games,and the visual representation of traditional culture in Chinese style electronic games.Based on the above analysis,the study explores the embedding of traditional culture in the Chinese style electronic game system,aiming to propose corresponding thinking strategies for the difficulties faced by the integration of Chinese style games and traditional culture.This study provides valuable reference for the future development of Chinese style games and the integration and communication of traditional culture and new media,contributing to the theoretical and practical exploration of the relationship between traditional culture and modern media.
