English writing is an important part of English learning,both in terms of the proportion of examinations and in terms of Comprehensive English learning.Because some senior high school students’ poor English writing level is due to their inability to apply English writing strategies,this paper will take the process-oriented theory and the output hypothesis as the theoretical basis to explore the current situation of senior high school students’ English writing strategy application and the reasons for their poor application,and propose suggestions to students and teachers based on the results,hoping to improve students’ English writing level.This paper investigates the application of English writing strategies of students in two classes of grade two in a senior high school in Tongliao through questionnaire,and interviews seven teachers and eight students to explore the following questions:1.What is the current state of senior high school students’ application of English writing strategies?2.What are the problems and causes in writing strategies application of senior high school students?3.How English Writing strategies for high school students should be improved?The following results are obtained through research:(1)The students apply writing strategies infrequently and pay attention to the strategies in while-writing ignoring the pre-writing strategies and post-writing strategies;they pay more attention to language means strategies.(2)Senior high school students have little understanding of writing strategies and lack of active application.Teachers also have little understanding of writing strategies and less intervention in students’ learning of writing strategies.Through the research of this paper,we can get the following enlightenment: high school students should consciously apply writing strategies,actively explore and apply more scientific and effective writing strategies,and enhance their output;teachers should learn more about writing strategies and have guidance of students’ writing strategies in time.
