Holboo is a folk art popular with Mongols people, and was included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in 2008.To this day,Holboo is still loved by a large audience for its vivid and humorous language, relaxed and cheerful style, and ingenious and ever-changing rhythm. In the era of new media, folk rap artist Huerqi closely follows the pace of the times, combines tradition with modernity, and effectively promotes the inheritance and development of the traditional rap art of Holboo.Based on comparative literature theory and in-depth field research, this article studies the inheritance and development of Holboo in the era of new media. The article is divided into four parts. The introduction includes research status, research significance, research ideas, and research methods.Chapter One analyzes and discusses the transmission media and transmission themes of Holboo in the context of new media based on We Chat public platform and Kuaishou short video platform.Chapter Two analyzes and studies the current situation of the Huerqi group in the era of new media, and conducts a case study on Hairen and his original Holboo, which is an autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage.Chapter Three investigates and analyzes the audience structure, audience cognition of Holboo, and the audience’s thinking on the inheritance and development of Holboo. The conclusion summarizes the content of the article, stating that the rise of new media platforms has provided new opportunities for the development of Holboo, making its transmission methods more diverse, its audience more widespread, and its transmission themes more abundant. At the same time,Holboo still faces problems such as the age structure gap of inheritors and the shrinking audience market in the process of inheritance and development.
