| In senior high school English teaching, some teachers think that the grammar section in textbook English(New Standard)published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press of senior high school focuses more on students’ grasp of grammar form and meaning. After learning the grammatical knowledge presented in the textbook, students’ mastery of grammar cannot fully meet the students’ needs of communication in practice.Especially after the new curriculum reform, the new curriculum standard puts forward higher requirements for teachers’ grammar teaching quality and students’ language application competence after learning English grammar. Therefore, this paper mainly studies the high school English grammar section from the perspective of three-dimensional grammar framework,in order to reveal the advantages and disadvantages of the current textbook grammar section design through the following three research questions,so as to improve the quality of high school English grammar teaching, and promote high school English learners English learning efficiency, and finally achieve the ability of strengthening the comprehensive use of English.1.How is the Three-Dimensional Grammar Theory presented in every grammar section in textbooks?2.How is the Three-Dimensional Grammar Theory presented in every grammar exercises section in textbooks?3.What are the advantages and disadvantage of the design of the grammar sections designed under the Three-Dimensional Grammar Theory? This paper firstly defines some related concepts, and then introduces the background and concept of the three-dimensional grammar framework in detail. And based on this theory, the dissertation analyzes the requirements of grammar learning in new curriculum standard.Subsequently, the analysis of the content of the grammar sections in textbook English(New Standard)for senior high school is carried out separately from the two aspects on the basis of the three-dimensional grammar framework: presentation of grammar items and grammar exercises. The study found that:1.Whether it is the presentation of grammar items or grammar exercises, the designs of them take into account the three dimensions of grammar: form, meaning and usage. Therefore, the grammar section of the textbook is reasonably designed.2.The grammar sections of the textbooks are reasonably designed to focus on different grammatical dimensions according to the contents and the differences in students’ cognitive levels.3.The grammar sections of the textbook are designed in a scientific and reasonable order,so that students can systematically and independently summarize the internal connections and differences among every grammar. The grammar exercises,as the language output, are varied in form but too few in number,so the teachers need to prepare more additional supplementations. At the end of the paper, based on the above analysis of the grammar sections of the textbooks, the author makes suggestions on how teachers can make better use of the textbooks for grammar teaching.During lesson preparation, teachers can divide the content of each grammar into three dimensions based on Larsen Freeman’s three-dimensional grammar theory, while considering which dimension the key and difficult points of the grammar belong to,so as to determine which dimension of the grammar should be highlighted in teaching activities, thus helping students master grammars more effectively and appropriately.Teachers should change the original concept of only focusing on the students’ acquisition of grammatical knowledge and they should pay more attention to improving students’ ability of using grammars for communication. |
