In the creative practice of new works of contemporary ethnic instrumental music,many young composers are passionate about presenting Chinese classical connotations and traditional cultural spirit,striving to achieve the connection between traditional cultural connotations and the composers’ emotions on the basis of traditional images such as classical poetry,paintings,mountains and rivers.The contemporary young composer Wang Yunfei’s Guzheng piece "The Orchid Pavilion" is based on the literary text of Wang Xizhi’s "Preface to The Orchid Pavilion Collection",striving to present the scene of The Orchid Pavilion and the author’s mood through musical melodies.The work portrays landscape paintings and literati situations in the form of music,reproducing the historical moment of literati gathering at The Orchid Pavilion.This article takes the Guzheng piece "The Orchid Pavilion"(Guzheng and piano version)as the research object,starting from the composer’s creative ideas and the inspiration for the creation of this work,and examining the performance skills of the work in combination with the music structure.Based on the understanding of the composer’s creative ideas and work structure,as well as the necessary interpretation of performance skills,the author will conduct deep argumentation and reflection on the emotional expression in the performance skills of the work.The specific structure is as follows:The first part starts with the creation background and conception of the work,forming an objective understanding of the composer’s musical emotional expression demands,and analyzing and interpreting the basic structure and emotional connotations in the melody of the work;The second part analyzes the performance skills in the work deeply,striving to analyze the skill issues in the work and construct a cognitive premise for the emotional and artistic conception of the melody;The third part is based on understanding of the basic creation of the work and analysis of the performance skills.The author will further interpret the performance skills in the work and deeply consider how to achieve unity between the performance skills and the emotional expression of the work.
