The film "ASSEMBLY" directed by Feng Xiaogang tells the story of Gu Zidi,who is tasked by his superiors not to retreat until he hears the sound of the bugle during the Liberation War,but when his soldiers die one after another,Gu Zidi questions whether the bugle is blown and vows to find the truth.After the release of the film,the film has received strong reactions,wide acclaim and many awards.In this thesis,based on the review and reading of related literature and materials,we found that most of the studies on the film "ASSEMBLY" are thematic studies of the film or comparative studies between the film and other films,but there is a lack of literature on the interpretation and study of the symbols in the film "ASSEMBLY",so this thesis takes film semiotics as the entry point.This thesis takes film semiotics as the starting point to interpret the symbols involved in the film "ASSEMBLY",pointing out how the film uses a series of visual and auditory symbols to express the patriotic feelings of the characters and their deep friendship with their comrades,and also analyzing the profound meaning behind each symbol and thinking about the use of symbols.The first chapter of the thesis is the introduction,which introduces the background and significance of this thesis,the current situation of domestic and international research and research methods;the second chapter introduces the theory of film semiotics and its application in this study and the overview of the content of the film "ASSEMBLY";the third chapter is the key chapter of the thesis,which focuses on the construction of symbols in the film "ASSEMBLY",taking visual and auditory symbols as the main vein,and then refining them,with visual symbols The visual symbols are divided into character symbols,prop symbols and scene symbols,and the auditory symbols are divided into music symbols,sound symbols and human voice symbols,interpreting the connotation and metaphors of each symbol in the film.Chapter 5 is a reflection on the use of symbols in the film "ASSEMBLY",divided into two parts,the first part is a reflection on the construction of the symbolic meaning of the film,summarizing the construction of the meaning of the reproduction of images and the construction of the meaning of visual composition;the second part is a revelation of the symbolic use of the film,the study finds that the film "ASSEMBLY " The study finds that the film "ASSEMBLY" subverts and innovates the traditional narrative perspective of the film through visual and auditory symbols,and uses lines and audio symbols reasonably to deepen the details of the film and improve the viewing experience of the audience.
