“The joy of suffering”is a violin and orchestra concerto composed by the famous French composer Chen Qigang in 2017.Through the analysis of "Sorrow and Joy of the Same Origin",the work takes the core material of ancient music as the throughout,and studies and elaborates the characteristics of tonal collection thinking from multiple perspectives such as pentatonic collection and chord structure.The article mainly contains four chapters: the first chapter introduces the composer Chen Qigang from his study experience and cultural background,introduces the work “The joy of suffering” from the creative background,and starts from the guqin song "Yangguan Three Stacks",exploring the penetration of its core tone in the work.Chapter 2 discusses the structure of the work in terms of the development of the core material.Chapter 3 analyzes and condenses the pitch organization of the work from the core set,chord composition,and harmony.Chapter 4 discusses the humanistic connotation embodied in Chen Qigang’s works from the perspective of his creative style.An in-depth analysis of the composer’s creative style,rooted in tradition,skillfully blends elements of ethnic music with Western composition techniques.
