| Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy(1809-1847),a German composer,is one of the most representative figures in the romantic music period.Mendelssohn’s music works interweave the rigor and logic of classicism with the exquisiteness,elegance and magnificence of romanticism,and he is good at describing the magnificent wonders of nature with music,creating a three-dimensional musical image through hearing and vision,and is also known as the "master of lyric landscape painting" among romantic composers.This thesis mainly focuses on the musical noumenon and connotation of the overture to Hebrides,and expounds the musical style and artistic position of this work,so as to interpret the unique meaning of Mendelssohn’s overture to Hebrides in the context of romantic music culture.This thesis consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction,which expounds the standpoint of the paper from the research purpose and significance,shows the current theoretical research status and level of related topics through the research status at home and abroad,and sorts out the literature according to the relevance of this topic,which provides sufficient objective conditions for the research.In addition,it also introduces the research methods and innovation of this paper.The second part is a summary of Mendelssohn’s life experience,starting from two aspects: Mendelssohn’s family background and life,Mendelssohn’s music study and travel study experience,aiming to pave the way for describing Mendelssohn’s music style and summarize the theoretical basis for the third and fourth parts.The third part is the overall grasp of Mendelssohn’s music creation style,and analyzes and combs the representative music works and styles in the three main periods of composer’s early period,Dusseldorf period and Leipzig period,thus forming a more comprehensive and objective understanding of Mendelssohn’s works.The fourth part is the main part of this paper,which mainly makes a musicological analysis of Hebrides,one of Mendelssohn’s most representative overtures.First,it explains the relevant cultural background of Hebrides overture creation from the German music cultural background in the 19 th century.Then,around the relationship between Hebrides overture creation and Ossian complex,it explores the origin,musical structure,core motivation and dominant tonality,music connotation and characteristics of the two.The fifth part is the induction and interpretation of the artistic features of Hebrides overture,summarizing the development significance of Mendelssohn’s concert overture "Hebrides" in music history,and expounding the musical creation characteristics of Hebrides overture and the significance of related music culture from the perspective of the blending of classicism and romanticism and the development of title music. |
