Illustration Design And Application Of Poetry In Color Printing

Illustration is the interpretation and visual presentation of a literary work,especially for poetry,which has a high degree of creative freedom,and it helps readers better understand the work and empathize with the author.As the expectation of readers for a colorful visual experience of illustrations increases,the design and production of illustrations are becoming more and more exquisite.Accordingly,the pursuit of artistic and pictorial qualities has led to an improvement in the traditional methods of illustration design and production.As far as readers are concerned,they prefer multi-color illustrations to monochrome ones,so color printed illustrations,as a unique form of visual communication,reflect their unique aesthetic characteristics.The design and production process of color print illustration involves drawing,plate making and printing,and is the product of a combination of plate engraving techniques,complex printing processes,visual design language and text,and is a typical achievement of ancient Chinese engraved book illustration design.In the development of its technical formal language and creative approach,it reflects the evolution of readers’ reading habits and market demand.Japanese illustration platemaking and printing techniques originated in China,but in the early 20 th century a mature and attractive Japanese water print woodcut technique was developed.During the process of creative exchange and cooperation with Japanese artist Hiroshi Furuya’s studio,I gained a deeper understanding of Japanese watermark woodcuts.Therefore,I selected the unique and charming Japanese poem "Collected Japanese Poems" as the text for creation,conducted an in-depth interpretation of the text,analyzed the relationship between the poem and the illustration,further refines the design elements and determines the way in which the text is transformed into a visual image.In the process of creation,the traditional Chinese printmaking and printing techniques are combined with Japanese water printing and woodcut techniques to illustrate the advantages of this integrated approach in conveying the aesthetic concept of Japanese "mourning",especially the unique design style and texture effect of the illustrations,and to study the influence of regional culture on the language of art forms.It also examines the influence of regional culture on the language of art forms and explores the possibilities of illustration design in terms of heritage,development,innovation and modernity.
