Study On Embroidery Of Yi Ethnic Group In Eshan,Yunnan

Eshan Yi embroidery in Yunnan is an important part of arts and crafts of ethnic minority in southwest China.In the long process of historical evolution,the embroidery of the Eshan Yi ethnic group carries the most far-reaching cultural characteristics of the Yi people in Eshan through materials,craftsmanship,patterns,and other elements.It is also the material manifestation of the spirit,thoughts and emotion,lifestyle,and other culture of the Yi people.Taking the embroidery of the Yi ethnic group in Eshan,Yunnan as the research object,from the perspective of fine arts,this paper focuses on the analysis of the form composition,modeling characteristics and cultural connotation of its embroidery patterns and deeply explores the artistic and aesthetic value of Eshan Yi embroidery.Hence,it aims to put forward a better path for the inheritance and development of Eshan Yi embroidery.In the present study,the field research methods,literature research methods and style research methods are adopted to comprehensively discusses the artistic characteristics of the Eshan Yi the embroidery in Yunnan.Taking the embroidery works of the Nasu and Niesu branches in Eshan Yi Autonomous County of Yunnan as the research samples,this paper deeply explores the artistic value and aesthetic value of Eshan Yi embroidery.It focuses on the analysis of the space expression,modeling language and color aesthetics by tarting from combing the origin of the Eshan Yi ethnic group and its embroidery in Yunnan to dig out the unique features of Eshan Yi embroidery in space construction,pattern modeling,color application and so on.In terms of composition,symmetry,equilibrium and conformal are the outstanding features of the embroidery space of Eshan Yi ethnic group.In terms of modeling,the modeling language of embroidery of Eshan’s Yi ethnic group is unique and diverse.The modeling ways of embroidery patterns include not only the concrete form of being loyal to the objective object,but also the image form of “watching for images”,and the abstract form with a strong sense of symbol.This proves that Eshan Yi embroidery in Yunnan,as a wonderful work in the folk art of ethnic minorities in southwest China,is the result of the multiple influence of the unique religious belief,regional environment,and ethnic culture of the Yi ethnic group in Eshan.
