Literature Research Of Peng Ershu

Peng Ershu was a poet and scholar in the late Ming and early Qing dynasty.Born in Zhongzhou,His literary thought and creation have distinct regional characteristics.At the time of the dynasty change from Ming to Qing,Peng Ershu’s life mentality and poetry creation showed typical characteristics of the times.Therefore,this paper analyzes Peng Ershu’s literary thought,personal mentality and poetic characteristics in connection with the social and poetic environment,combined with the life path of Peng Ershu.Peng Ershu’s ancestors moved to Dengzhou from Jiangxi province,thriving families by farming.Peng Ershu was affected by the benevolent family tradition since childhood,having a bold and uninhibited personality.Peng Ershu’s life can be roughly divided into four stages.The first is the study period;The second is around the Jiashen Event,Peng Ershu became a renegade official during this period;The third is the ten-year home period;The fourth is the period of being an official in the southwest.In social intercourse,Peng Ershu has a heroic character and he has many friends,including not only literary leaders,but also friends with Taoist and monks.In terms of writing,Peng Ershu is good at literature and history.His poems have been compiled and published many times.The late Ming and early Qing dynasties was an important stage for the evolution of literary trends.The literary circles in Zhongzhou continued to renew their old traditions and at the same time had new changes.On the one hand,he studied Du Fu and Han Yu,continued the ideas of Qi Zi.In addition,Peng Ershu extremely advocated self-establishment,he proposed that "plagiarize is ineffective,creation will go far",there should be a self in poetry.During the late Ming and early Qing,extensive and in-depth discussions were carried out around the concept of "History of Poetry",and the relevant theories and creations were rich.From this point of view,quite a few of Peng Ershu’s poems describe historical events and people’s livelihood,which can be called "History of Poetry";and those poems that describe his mental journey can also be regarded as a "History of Heart" of renegade officials.Among them,there are not only the bitterness pervaded in the literati community,but also Peng Ershu’s personal characteristics of being aggressive and unfettered by the thought of loyalty.When Peng Ershu was an official in Southwest China,he consciously recorded the local customs and current affairs and politics,Opened up the frontier fortress theme for the early Qing dynasty.And his poetry style is also influenced by the region to show the magnificent characteristicsFinally analyzes Peng Ershu’s prose creation,including content and style.It can be mainly divided into three categories: first,there are some inscriptions and biographies,which show his intention to preserve history and promote cultural;second,some historical commentaries and theories showed his qualities as a historian;third,The sincere disclosure of his interests and emotions,mainly includes some prefaces and epitaphs he wrote for his relatives and friends.In terms of style,Peng Ershu’s prose style is different from that of poetry,showing the characteristics of vigor and simplicity.
