A rhetorical question is a kind of sentence that asks a question without any doubt,in which the form and meaning are polar opposites. The specific rhetorical question formed by the question pronoun “shenme” is not only similar to the structure of the specific question formed by “shenme”,but also has a variety of linguistic functions due to the fact that this sentence type is not unique and is influenced by the specificity of the question pronoun “shenme”.It is also very difficult for international students to learn because of the uniqueness of this sentence type and the richness of its linguistic function due to the special nature of the question pronoun “shenme”.In addition,in the arrangement of the textbook, the “shenme” type rhetorical question is not systematic,or only appears in some sporadic sentences,or only in the text notes. The whole paper mainly adopts the corpus research method, analyzes the relevant corpus collected from the corpus qualitatively and quantitatively, removes the contents that do not match the research object, and composes the recognition conditions, typical sentence forms, and discourse functions at the static level based on the previous research results and the CCL corpus of Peking University. At the dynamic level,we analyze the reasons and constraints of their use,in order to make up for the shortcomings of the previous papers on dynamic interaction, and to provide a different perspective for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. At the same time, the constraints of acquisition are analyzed from two aspects: international students themselves and textbook development, and finally, the text settings and post-lesson exercises of the “shenme” type rhetorical questions in the mainstream Chinese textbooks used by universities are examined to analyze the constraints of the“shenme” type rhetorical questions. In the end,we analyze the problems in the setting of “shenme” type rhetorical questions, and finally propose suggestions for the learning and teaching of “shenme” type rhetorical questions from three dimensions:students, teachers and textbooks. In order to make international students better grasp and use this sentence pattern,a systematic summary of its typical sentence patterns and pragmatic functions is made to understand its use in dynamic interaction. In order to make international students better grasp and use this phrase,we will systematically summarize its typical sentence patterns and functions, understand its use in dynamic interaction, and add and improve the relevant teaching contents in the textbook according to the actual needs,so as to draw the attention of students and teachers to this language point and make it more relevant and systematic in the future teaching, hoping that this can not only solve the difficulties of international students in learning and daily communication, but also be a useful supplement in the process of continuous improvement of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
