The Application Of Variation Techniques In Schumann’s Abeige Variations

Robert Schumann is a Romantic German music composer and critic.The piano work "Aberg Variations" is the beginning of its creation,and the first work of Schumann to develop a new form of variations on the basis of his predecessors’ traditional variations and integrate them into the romantic fantasy,so it has extraordinary significance.In this paper,the author mainly elaborates on the application of variation techniques in Aberg Variations.Aberg Variations has opened up a new style of variation creation.It can be said that while inheriting the classical style,it has changed greatly.In the first chapter,"Introduction",the author introduces the value of this study,the current research situation at home and abroad and the use of research institutes.The second chapter,"The Creative Background of Aberg’s Variations",analyses the conditions for the birth of this work from the perspective of objective factors-era environment and subjective factors-Schumann’s own growing background;the third chapter,"The Creative Characteristics of Aberg’s Variations-Theme" introduces the development of the core themes of the variations from the evolution of the theme,and narrates the development of the core themes of the variations.The characteristics of the theme of Schumann’s work have become a more free use of thematic motives such as "non-theme".Chapter IV,"The application of variation techniques in Aberg’s Variations" is the focus of this article,focusing on the development and application of various variation techniques in this work;Chapter V,"The emotion embodied in variation techniques in Aberg’s Variations" elaborates.The author’s feelings expressed by the variations.By analyzing the application of variation techniques in Aberg Variations,I hope to provide some help for music lovers,to better understand the meaning of the work and to better understand Schumann.
