Investigation And Preliminary Study On Ancient Kiln Site In Song And Yuan Dynasties In Ningdu,Jiang Xi Province

Ningdu region is full of mountains and numerous tributaries.It has a long history and is the birthplace of Hakka people and one of the largest settlements of Hakka people.Ningdu is rich in porcelain resources,such as kaolin and porcelain clay,which is an important producing area of ancient porcelain industry in Jiangxi Province.Its porcelain industry culture is unique,rich in remains and self-contained.Nearly 10 relics of ancient kiln sites in Song and Yuan Dynasties were found in Ningdu County,which are rich in types,mainly distributed along Meijiang River and its tributaries,It provides abundant archaeological data for combing the development of ancient ceramic industry in Ningdu area and the evolution of porcelain making technology in Song and Yuan Dynasties.This paper selects the most representative ancient kiln sites in Song and Yuan Dynasties for research.Due to the shortage of materials,the previous scholars have less research on porcelain making technology in Ningdu area,and the specific situation of porcelain development in this area is not completely clear.Based on this reason,the survey data of kiln sites in Ningdu County from 2016 to 2018 will be taken as the focus in this paper,and trace the development of ancient kiln industry in this area and the driving forces behind it.The main part of this paper first presents the ancient kiln sites in Ningdu County in Song and Yuan Dynasties discovered during the investigation,and makes typological analysis on the artifacts excavated during the investigationSecondly,from the time dimension,space dimension,characteristics of kiln sites and unearthed objects,the overall characteristics of kiln sites in Ningdu area in Song and Yuan Dynasties are comprehensively analyzed.Thirdly,the kiln industry technology in Ningdu area in Song and Yuan Dynasties was analyzed from three aspects:glaze and decoration,structure and composition,firing technology(kiln structure,firing technology and firing tools).Finally,this paper compares the related kiln sites in Ningdu with the surrounding areas,and analyzes the historical development and evolution of this area ceramic industry in Song and Yuan Dynasties.Throughout history,the evolution and development of the ancient porcelain industry in Ningdu County in Song and Yuan Dynasties can not be separated from the relevant kilns in the surrounding areas.In the course of its development,the kiln sites in this area were in a relatively passive position in the market during Song and Yuan Dynasties.In order to meet the market demand and strengthen its competitive strength,the kiln industry in Ningdu frequently copied the products popular in the market.This area has formed its unique development path of porcelain industry in the process of continuous imitation.
