athletes.Excellent competitive performance requires athletes to adjust their emotional state in time, maintain attention and quickly eliminate the interference of irrelevant information. In addition,In the process of action control, the action control style formed by individual differences of will have an impact on attention. The attention network model extends attention into three subsystems:alertness, orientation and executive control. This study investigated the effects of emotion, emotion regulation strategy and action control style on attention network function of athletes, attempted to select more optimized emotion regulation methods to improve the performance of attention network function of athletes with different action control styles. And this study had a certain application significance for the athletes to effectively regulate their emotions and improve their attention in the competition. This research has selected the athletes of the antagonistic events as the research object, questionnaire and experiment methods were used to investigate the effects of emotion and emotion regulation strategy on attention network function and the heart rate of athletes who have different action control styles were investigated. In the first study,a questionnaire was used to discuss the characteristics of athletes’ action control style. The study selected 384 athletes from a sports college and investigates the differences in action control style among athletes of different genders, different sports groups, different sports levels and different training years. The results showed as follow:There are significant differences in action control styles among athletes of different genders, different sports levels and different training years:Female athletes are more inclined to action orientation than male athletes.National athletes of first level and above are more inclined to action orientation than athletes of second level.Athletes who had trained longer are more inclined to action orientation than those who had trained less.In the second study,a experiment was used to investigated the effects of emotion, emotion regulation strategy and action control style on attention network function of athletes. In this study,143 athletes in antagonistic events were selected to measure the attention network function of the athletes by the ANT task. The results showed as follow:(1)There are significant differences in the attention network functions of athletes with different action control styles:Compared with state-oriented athletes,action-oriented athletes had higher efficiency in attentional orientation and executive control.(2)There are significant differences in the attention network function of athletes in different emotional states:Compared with happy emotion, the efficiency of attentional orientation and executive control was lower in angry emotion, and the efficiency of attentional alertness was higher in angry emotion.(3)Athletes with different action control styles have significant differences in the attention network function under different emotional states:in angry emotion, compared with status-oriented athletes,action-oriented athletes had higher attentional execution control efficiency and task accuracy.(4)Athletes with different action control styles have significant differences in the attention network function when using different emotion regulation strategies under different emotions:The attentional alertness efficiency of action-oriented athletes using expression suppression strategy was higher in anger than in happy emotion. In anger, compared with the expressive suppression strategy, the state-oriented athletes had higher attentional alertness when using the cognitive reappraisal strategy. The attentional alertness efficiency of the action-oriented athletes was higher than that of the state-oriented athletes when the expression suppression strategy was used in anger. In the third study,a experiment was used to examined the heart rate of emotion, emotion regulation strategy and action control style on attention network function of athletes. In this study,143 athletes in antagonistic events were selected.ANT task was used to measure the attention network function of the athletes, and Polar V800 heart rate monitor and heart rate transmission belt were used to monitor and record the heart rate of the athletes. The results showed as follow:(1)Emotion can affect the heart rate of athletes. The heart rate of the athletes in the stage of eliciting emotion and completing ANT task was significantly higher than that in the calm state. The athletes’ heart rates were higher when they were angry than when they were happy.(2)There are significant differences in heart rate when athletes adopted different emotional regulation strategies in different emotional states:In the emotional induction stage, the heart rate of the athletes in angry emotion was significantly higher than that in happy emotion when they used the expressive suppression strategy. In the state of anger, the heart rate of the athletes using the cognitive reappraisal strategy was marginal significantly lower than that using the expressive suppression strategy(3)In the process of completing the ANT task, the heart rate of the action-oriented athletes in the anger emotion was higher than that in the happy emotion when the expression suppression strategy was used.In the state of anger, the heart rate of action-oriented athletes using the expressive suppression strategy was significantly higher than that using the cognitive reappraisal strategy. When the cognitive reappraisal strategy was used in the state of anger, the heart rate of the action-oriented athletes was lower than that of the state-oriented athletes.Under the conditions of this study, the following conclusions were drawn:(1)Athletes with high sports level and long training years tended to be action orientation, and female athletes tended to be action orientation.(2)Emotion,emotion regulation strategy and action control style affect attention network function. In anger, the state-oriented athletes had higher attentional alertness when using the cognitive reappraisal strategy, the action-oriented athletes had higher attentional alertness when using the expression suppression strategies.(3)Emotion,emotion regulation strategy and action control style affect the heart rate of athletes. In anger,action-oriented athletes had higher heart rate when using the expression suppression strategies, but had lower heart rate when using the cognitive reappraisal strategy. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | athletes, emotion, emotion regulation strategies, action control style, attention networks | PDF Full Text Request | Related
