| The modern museum,which was born at the end of the 19 th century,is called the "Encyclopedia of Activities" and is a public display of the cultural image of a country and a nation.It is not only a very important art institution for the construction of modern cities and modern culture,but also a field of power.Located in Shanghai,the Power Station of Art is the epitome of the Chinese Museum of Contemporary Art.It is an important place for the development of Chinese contemporary art.It faces the strong discourse output of the West and serves as the first public contemporary art in China’s mainland.Can the museum,Power Station of Art,demonstrate the confidence of Chinese native culture? Or is it just a reflection of the image of Western discourse?This is the key question that the paper wants to answer.The research of this thesis mainly adopts the interdisciplinary research method,combined with the theories of different disciplines such as Arts,Museum Studies and Cultural Studies,to study the Power Station of Art under the Chinese art ecology and its relationship with Chinese contemporary art.In addition,with the field research method,the art museums of major art parks in China,such as Shanghai and Beijing,were inspected to have an overall understanding of the development of the China Museum of Contemporary Art.The body part is divided into three chapters.The first chapter starts from the aspects of positioning,collection,exhibition brand and public education,and sorts out the unique position of Power Station of Art in the Museum of Chinese Contemporary Art.Due to its complexity and controversy,the Power Station of Art has become the object of special attention,description and research in Chinese contemporary art;its leading position in public education has a strong guidance and reference for other museums in China.Therefore,the Power Station of Art has specimen value in many domestic art museums.The second chapter demonstrates the participation of the Power Station of Art in the history of Chinese contemporary art from the establishment of the exchange of Chinese and Western contemporary art and the combing of the contemporary art types in China.The Power Station of Art has gained a realistic reference from the history of art and actively participated in the process of promoting the continued development of Chinese contemporary art history.It is not only a simple and flat presentation of art,but also a summary and analysis of Chinese contemporary art to enhance it to the theoretical level.With the perfection of the Chinese contemporary art system,it reflects its historical consciousness of constructing Chinese contemporary art.The third chapter takes the Power Station of Art as an example to study the power game in the Chinese Art Museum.In a global perspective,research on other cultures outside the Western Center(Chinese native culture)proves the value of local culture and forms the relationship between the culture and his culture in the museum.Under the infiltration of political discourse and Western discourse,under the combination of official and folk multicultural powers,the Power Station of Art,as a microcosm,transformed and censored Chinese culture and eventually formed a contemporary art museum with Chinese characteristics.The author hopes to use the Power Station of Art as a sample,and use cultural interpretation to sort out the exhibitions since its opening,to study its value and function as a cultural landmark,and to provide a new research perspective for Chinese museum researchers.It also makes it easy for museum practitioners to understand the cultural connotations behind the exhibition.Secondly,the theoretical method is applied to the practice of art history,and the analysis of culture and context is led to more concentrated research.The author will find perceptible entry points for metaphysical theoretical research such as Western discourse and critical theory,and transform theoretical research into perceptible reality.Then,this study hopes to further enrich the Western discourse and the study of Chinese contemporary art from a global perspective.Through the mirror image of Western discourse in the Museum of Chinese Contemporary Art,explore the multiple power game between the West and the East,the official and the folk,and the contemporary Shanghai.The Museum of Art recreates a certain sense of ritual with Chinese characteristics for the Chinese Museum of Contemporary Art.Most importantly,this study can also see the feasibility and diversity of Western theory applied to the Chinese environment,and contribute to the expansion of the theory’s adaptability. |
