Objective: To investigate the relationship between gastrin-17(G-17)and the characteristics of lower esophageal sphincter pressure and reflux in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, and to provide help for the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease.Method: A total of 90 patients diagnosed as gastroesophageal reflux disease after 24 hours of esophageal PH-impedance monitoring were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from December 2021 to December 2022.General clinical data such as age, gender and BMI of the patients were recorded and sorted out.According to the serum G-17 level, the patients were divided into three groups:decreased group of G-17(G-17 ≤1pmol/L),normal group of 30(1pmol/L<G-17<7pmol/L)and increased group of 30(7pmol/L ≤ G-17).High resolution esophageal manometry and 24 h esophageal ph-impedance monitoring were used to measure the lower esophageal sphincter pressure and various reflux indexes, and the comparison between groups was conducted. Results: 1.There were no significant differences in gender composition,BMI and age among the three groups(P>0.05).2.The Times of weak acid reflux,non-acid reflux and lower esophageal sphincter pressure were not statistically different among the three groups(P >0.05),and there was no correlation between G-17 level and lower esophageal sphincter pressure.3.Number of acid reflux were as follows: decreased G-17 group(19.73±4.92),normal G-17 group(29.70±5.23),increased G-17group(46.53±5.78),and pair comparison between groups had statistical significance(P < 0.05).De Meester scores were as follows: G-17 decreased group(38.30±11.62),gastrin 17 normal group(53.43±20.78),G-17 increased group(74.23±20.82),and pair comparison between groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Moreover,in 51 patients with normal lower esophageal sphincter pressure,Number of acid reflux and De Meester score were positively correlated with G-17,with correlation coefficient r values of 0.785 and 0.571.Conclusions: There is no correlation between G-17 level and lower esophageal sphincter pressure in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, and G-17 level is positively correlated with acid reflux degree in GERD patients with normal lower esophageal sphincter pressure.G-17 may be involved in the occurrence and development of GERD by stimulating gastric acid secretion and increasing acid reflux.Fasting serum G-17 level is helpful to assess the severity of acid reflux in patients with gastroesophageal reflux.
