Objective: The clinical effectiveness of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy(iCBT)for binge spectrum disorders is still controversial. This paper conducts a metaanalysis of the existing relevant literature to evaluate its clinical application value. Methods: Systematically search English databases such as Pubmed,Embase,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,Psyc INFO,and Chinese databases such as CNKI,Wanfang, and CBM to obtain all published randomized controlled trials. The search date ends in October 2022.After evaluating the quality of the included literature,Revman5.4software was used to conduct statistical analysis on the data of the retrieved literature to obtain the weighted mean difference(Weighted Mean Difference,WMD),standardized mean difference(Standardized Mean Difference,SMD)or relative risk(Relative Risk,RR),and their respective 95% confidence intervals. Results: Finally,10 randomized controlled trials meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included, with a total of 1931 patients with binge eating disorder. The statistical results show that iCBT can significantly improve binge eating-related clinical symptoms in patients with binge eating disorder(WMD=-0.83,95%CI[-1.07,-0.59],P<0.00001;),the number of objective binge episodes(OBEs)were more significantly reduced(WMD=-6.48,95%CI[-10.38,-2.59],P=0.001),which was statistically significant compared with the results of the control group. We also found that iCBT has a significant effect on depression(SMD=-0.40,95%CI[-0.59,-0.21],P<0.0001),anxiety(SMD=-0.24,95%CI[-0.45,-0.04],P<0.02),self-esteem(WMD=2.76,95%CI[1.44,4.09],P<0.0001)and other aspects have different degrees of improvement, but the effect on quality of life is not significant(SMD=0.19,95%CI[-0.00,0.37],P=0.05),and there was a statistically significant difference between the treatment dropout rate and the control group(RR=2.03,95%CI[1.46,2.83],P<0.0001).Conclusion: iCBT has a significant effect on improving the typical clinical symptoms of patients with binge eating disorder, and can relieve their depression and anxiety, and improve self-esteem. |
