| Objective: To investigate the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic variceal ligation(EVL)and endoscopic histoacryl injection(EHI)in the treatment of esophagogastric variceal bleeding(EVB).Methods: A total of 245 patients with EVB who attended the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from December 2017 to June 2021 were retrospectively collected.The participants were divided into the E-EVL+G-EVL group(n=103)and the E-EVL+G-EHI group(n=142),according to the procedure,comparing and assessing the clinical characteristics,laboratory results,operation time,hospital stay time,rebleeding rate,curative effect,complications,etc.Results: The E-EVL+G-EVL group had significantly less varicose vein diameter and operative time than the E-EVL+G-EHI group(P<0.05).No statistical difference in the length of hospital stay between the two groups was noted(P>0.05).In the E-EVL+GEVL group,the total rebleeding rate was 9.7%,the early rebleeding rate was 3.9%,and the delayed rebleeding rate was 5.8%;In the E-EVL+G-EHI group,the total rebleeding rate was 11.9%,the early rebleeding rate was 4.9%,and the delayed rebleeding rate was7.0%.There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of total rebleeding rate,early rebleeding rate,and delayed rebleeding rate(P>0.05).The total effective rate in the E-EVL+G-EVL group was 90.3%,with a marked effective rate of47.6%,an effective rate of 42.7%,and an ineffective rate of 9.7%;The total effective rate in the E-EVL+G-EHI group was 93.0%,of which the significant effective rate was45.8%,the effective rate was 47.2%,and the ineffective rate was 7.0%.There was no statistically significant difference in the treatment effect between the two groups(P>0.05).In the E-EVL+G-EVL group,the postoperative ulcer was small and superficial,and the wound surface was smoother.In the E-EVL+G-EHI group,various forms of postoperative glue ulcer could be observed.There were no serious complications such as ectopic embolism and perforation in both groups.Conclusion: Both EVL and EHI have good therapeutic effects on EVB.Furthermore,owing to its effectiveness in preventing rebleeding,no reduction in efficacy and no increase in complications,shortened operative time,smaller and superficial ulcer and smoother wounds,gastric EVL is worthy of further clinical promotion. |
