Depression is a common psychological disorder that negatively affects the patient’s mood and thinking,and is now a problem for hundreds of millions of people worldwide.Among the mainstream treatments for depression,drug therapy has high side effects,slow onset of action and low response rate,while psychotherapy is timeconsuming and expensive for many patients.Therefore,some researchers have begun to explore new treatment methods,and light therapy is one of them.Light therapy has received increasing attention in recent years because of its low side effects,significant efficacy,and low cost.In the process of phototherapy,inappropriate parameters can affect the effect of phototherapy,and the setting of parameters is a very important part of phototherapy.The parameter setting of existing phototherapy lacks scientific basis,ignores the individual differences of patients,and cannot make dynamic parameter adjustment according to the changes of patients’ status,which cannot ensure good treatment effect.Therefore,to address the shortcomings of existing phototherapy,this study proposes a personalized phototherapy method based on negative feedback loops,by combining existing phototherapy with EEG signal analysis methods,setting personalized phototherapy parameters according to the different EEG characteristics of different individuals,and dynamically updating and adjusting phototherapy parameters,so as to achieve personalized phototherapy.The experimental evidence shows that the personalized phototherapy method proposed in this paper has significantly improved the efficacy compared with the existing phototherapy.The main research contents and contributions of this paper are as follows:Translated with www.Deep L.com/Translator(free version)(1)A personalized phototherapy method based on negative feedback loop is proposed.In order to address the shortcomings of the traditional phototherapy parameter settings that ignore individual differences,the EEG signal analysis method combined with phototherapy was used to personalize phototherapy for the subjects.The arousal value and potency were used as the evaluation index of the subject’s emotional state,and the EEG signal was used to quantify the evaluation index.The quantified indexes were used to assess the changes in the subjects’ emotional state during phototherapy to obtain personalized phototherapy evaluation parameters for the subjects.The GA-NNRank model is proposed,based on which the personalized phototherapy parameters are predicted,and the personalized phototherapy method is implemented through the personalized phototherapy parameters.Finally,a negative feedback loop is introduced to correct the parameters for data with differences between the predicted and assessed parameters,and the model is trained again to update the model parameters to improve the accuracy of phototherapy parameter settings.(2)Construct a personalized phototherapy duration model based on the personalized phototherapy method,and design and develop a light duration recommendation system.The EEG feature-light duration dataset is constructed for the key duration parameters in phototherapy.After dividing the dataset into training set,validation set,and test set,we use Relief F algorithm for feature selection,MTD algorithm for data enhancement,and normalize the training set,validation set,and test set respectively.The personalized light therapy duration model is constructed and the model is evaluated using ACC and F1 scores.Design and develop the light duration recommendation system,including EEG acquisition and processing module,light duration selection module,and data storage and management module,and design the interface and function of these modules respectively.(3)Experimental validation of the personalized phototherapy method using the light duration recommendation system.Subjects were recruited and divided into three groups: personalized light therapy duration group,fixed light therapy duration group and no light control group,and each group was subjected to different experimental paradigms.After six weeks of experimentation,the patient health questionnaire depression self-rating scale(PHQ9)scores decreased by 54.29%,depression self-rating scale(SAS)scores decreased by 25.47%,and anxiety self-rating scale(SDS)scores decreased by 22.60% in the personalized phototherapy duration group,showing a faster trend and decrease in each scale score,fully demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.The effectiveness of the proposed method was fully demonstrated.
