Objective: To investigate the level of parenting stress(PS)of premature mothers at 40 weeks of corrected gestational age,1 month of corrected gestational age,and 3 months of corrected gestational age, describe its dynamic change trend, analyze the main factors that affect the PS of premature mothers at different time points.Methods:(1)This study adopted a prospective longitudinal study design, and selected the premature mothers who met the inclusion criteria and had informed consent and were hospitalized in a neonatology department of a 3A grade hospital in Baise,Guangxi from August 2021 to November 2022 as the research objects. The demographic data,PS level, care ability,Family care level and co-Parenting perception level were assessed with the general information questionnaire,Parenting Stress Index-Short Form(PSI-SF),the assessment scale of parental care ability of premature infants in the transitional period, the Family APGAR Index(AP-GAR),and the Chinese version of Brief Co-rearing Relationship Scale(Brief‐CRS).A questionnaire survey was conducted at three time points: 40 weeks of corrected gestational age(T1),1 month of corrected gestational age(T2)and 3 months of corrected gestational age(T3).(2)Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the general data of the premature mothers, and repeated measures of variance was used to analyze the general change trend of the PS level of premature mothers.PSI-SF scores of demographic and disease data of premature infants and mothers were compared by one-way variance analysis or independent sample T-test.Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the level of PS at different time points and the care ability, family caring degree and co-parenting of transitional premature infants.Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of PSI-SF at different time points.Results:(1)Questionnaire completion of the subjects: A total of 190 cases were included in this study. After 3 months of follow-up,26 cases were lost to follow-up,the rate of lost to follow-up was 13.68%,164 cases completed three surveys.(2)The change trend of PS of premature mothers: The scores of PS of premature mothers at T1 to T3 were 106.87±13.70 points,99.05±12.39 points and 94.51±6.54 points, respectively. The highest scores of parenting stress were at T1,and the total score of PSI-SF and scores of all dimensions showed a downward trend over time.(3)Trend of care ability of preterm mothers: the scores of care ability of preterm mothers at time points T1 to T3 were 105.26±13.20 points,112.10±8.69 points and 112.50±7.81 points, respectively, and the scores of care ability showed an upward trend from T1 to T3.(4)The change trend of family care degree of premature mothers: the scores of family care degree were 8.51±1.68 points,8.13±1.81 points and 7.84±1.64 points at time points T1 to T3,respectively,and the scores of family care degree showed an upward trend from T1 to T3.(5)Trend in co-parenting scores of preterm mothers: the co-parenting scores were 49.42±4.41 points,46.81±4.10 points and 44.45±3.67 points at time points T1 to T3,respectively,and the co-parenting scores all showed an upward trend from T1 to T3.(6)Factors influencing PS among mothers of preterm infants at different time points: The main influencing factors of PSIT-SF at T1 time point were gestational age of preterm infants,Apgar score at 1 minute after birth, maternal parenting experience, maternal care knowledge, and mutual support of spouses, which could explain 69.2% of the total variation. The main influencing factors at T2 time point were gestational age of preterm infants,Apgar score at 1minute after birth, weight catch-up growth, maternal care knowledge, care skills, and mutual support of spouses, explaining 67.8% of the total variation. The main influencing factors of PSI-SF at T3 time point were: gestational age of preterm infants, weight catch-up growth, maternal care knowledge, care skills and mutual recognition of spouses, which could explain45.1% of the total variation.Conclusion:(1)The scores of the preterm mothers were all at high stress level at three time points, and the scores of the mothers at T1 were the highest, and the scores of the mothers at T3 were the lowest.(2)The PS level of preterm mothers at three time points was negatively correlated with the maternal caring ability, family care degree and co-parenting.(3)The main influencing factors of maternal PS at T1 time point were: gestational age of premature infants,Apgar score at 1 minute after birth, maternal parenting experience, maternal care knowledge, and mutual support of spouses. The main influencing factors of PS of preterm mothers at T2 time point were: gestational age,Apgar score at 1 minute after birth, weight catch-up growth, maternal care knowledge, care skills, and mutual support of spouses. The main influencing factors of parenting stress of preterm mothers at T3 time point were: gestational age, weight catch-up growth, maternal care knowledge, care skills, and mutual recognition of spouses.
