| With the rapid development of economy, education, medical care, science and technology in China, people’s health level continues to improve, and the happiness index has also risen significantly. However,as the aging population becomes more serious, health inequality has also begun to emerge. The health inequality problem of the elderly is prominent, especially the elderly in rural areas are now the focus of attention.Due to the different social and economic status of different groups, the health inequality of the elderly in rural areas has been widely concerned by the society. At the same time, older persons are a key group in improving the overall health and well-being of the population, and a typical group of health inequalities caused by unbalanced economic development between regions. Therefore, this paper empirically analyzes the relationship between health inequality and social and economic status of the rural elderly, and draws on the existing research results and combines the case analysis to provide theoretical reference for solving the health problems of the rural elderly.First of all, this paper defines the concepts related to health inequality of the rural elderly.By combing the existing research on health inequality at home and abroad,it summarizes the various influencing factors and measurement methods of health inequality, and organizes the theory of health human capital and health demand as the theoretical basis of this study.Secondly, based on the data of CHARLS2018,the centralized index method was used to measure the health inequality of the rural elderly groups in China as a whole and in eastern, central and western regions respectively. Finally, based on the binary Logistic model, with self-rated health as explained variables and individual characteristics, income, health behavior, medical insurance, pension insurance and chronic disease as control variables, regression analysis was carried out on self-rated health, and the centralized index decomposition method was used to measure and decompose the health inequality degree of each variable.Explore the contribution of influencing factors to health inequalities. The results show that, first, the health advantage of the rural elderly group is biased towards the high-income group, and income is the primary factor affecting their health inequality.Second, there are differences in the health level of rural aged groups in different regions.Thirdly, whether to participate in social exercise and whether to smoke and drink bad behaviors have an important impact on the health inequality of rural elderly people;Fourthly, the influence of education on the health inequality of rural elderly groups should not be ignored;Fifth, health inequalities among the elderly in rural areas are exacerbated by the presence or absence of chronic diseases. Finally, based on the empirical conclusion, this paper draws on the successful experience of developed countries in resolving the health inequality of the elderly, and combines the field investigation cases to try to narrow the health inequality of the rural elderly in China, and tries to put forward policy suggestions to resolve the health inequality of the rural elderly. |
