Objective: To explore the relationship between childhood maltreatment, depression and inflammatory factors.Methods:1.A total of 92 patients with depression and 48 healthy controls were included.According to the evaluation results of childhood trauma questionnaire, depression patients were divided into trauma group(50 cases)and non-trauma group(42 cases).2.Plasma levels of Interleukin-1beta(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-10(IL-10)and interleukin-18(IL-18)were determined by Luminex platform.3.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between childhood trauma, depression and inflammatory factors, and stepwise linear regression was used to analyze the mediating effect.Results:1.The cognitive impairment factor score of the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)was significantly different between the non-trauma group and the trauma group [4(2,5)points vs 5(2.75,7)points,t=-2.224,P=0.026<0.05]2.There was no significant difference in IL-1β levels among the three groups(P >0.05).Compared with healthy controls,IL-10 levels in the trauma group were statistically different [1.60(0.29,2.39)pg/ml vs 0.10(0.04,0.42)pg/ml,H=19.310,P<0.001].3.The severity of depression was positively correlated with the total score of childhood trauma, emotional abuse, emotional neglect, physical neglect and physical abuse, but negatively correlated with the level of IL-10.IL-10 levels were negatively correlated with the total score of childhood trauma, emotional abuse, emotional neglect and somatic neglect.4.Stepwise linear regression analysis showed that somatic neglect positively predicted the severity of depression and negatively predicted the level of IL-10,and IL-10 level played a partial mediating role in the influence of somatic neglect on the severity of depression. Conclusions: Somatic neglect may have a direct effect on depression, and it may also have an indirect effect on depression through affecting IL-10 level.
