Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of supplemented Guizhi Fuling Pills combined with arthroscopic release and decompression in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, the difference between the recovery of hand and median nerve function and the traditional carpal tunnel incision release and decompression, and the improvement in postoperative improvement. The advantages of patients’ quality of life, reduction of complications, and recurrence rate. Methods:From December 2018 to October 2021,87 patients who were to undergo surgery for unilateral carpal tunnel syndrome who were screened according to the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria of this topic were selected,6 cases were excluded, and 81 were effective cases.According to patients’ willingness and order of admission, they were randomly divided into observation group, control group and blank group. The observation group was treated with supplemented Guizhi Fuling Pills combined with arthroscopic release and decompression. The control group was treated with supplemented Guizhi Fuling Pills combined with conventional carpal tunnel release and decompression. The blank group was treated with conventional carpal tunnel release and decompression. The observers and the control group took Chinese medicine pills for another 12 weeks. All three groups took the same functional rehabilitation program. The postoperative follow-up period is 3 months. The curative effect statistics of the three groups were performed at the 2nd week and 3rd month after operation, detailed physical examination, comprehensive evaluation and grading of median nerve function and various sub-assessments were performed, and data were recorded. The results of sensory function classification, median nerve function score and Boston carpal tunnel scale score were compared before surgery,2 weeks and 3 months after surgery to evaluate the efficacy of arthroscopic surgery and traditional Chinese medicine. Results: In the included patient studies, the basic data(sex, age, disease duration, preoperative median nerve function score, preoperative median nerve sensory grade, preoperative BCTQ symptoms, function and total score)of the three groups of patients were divided into groups. The results were no statistically different(P>0.05),and the data were comparable. After treatment, there were no significant differences in median nerve function score, median nerve sensory grade, postoperative BCTQ symptoms, function and total score between the observation group and the control group at 2 weeks and 3 months after operation(P>0.05).The median nerve function score of the control group recovered to 11.04±1.64 point three months after operation, and the blank group was 10.13±1.56 point, with statistical significance(P<0.05).There was no statistical difference between the control group and the blank group in the rest of the data(P>0.05).None of the three groups of patients had postoperative complications of postoperative infection and other nerve damage.Compared with the control group and blank group, the scar pain rate in the observation group was significantly lower. There was no recurrence in the three groups in the short term(3 months after operation). Conclusion: Taking supplemented Guizhi Fuling Pills can promote functional recovery after carpal tunnel surgery, but has no obvious effect on nerve sensory recovery.Arthroscopic decompression and traditional carpal tunnel incision and decompression have no significant difference in symptom relief and postoperative functional recovery in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome, but they have advantages in reducing postoperative scar pain complications.Postoperative oral administration of supplemented Guizhi Fuling pills has a positive effect on the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.
