With the rapid development of China’s economic society and the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, people’s health problems are increasingly prominent, lifestyle has been proved to be the most important factor for individuals to maintain their health. The survey shows that chronic diseases caused by various unhealthy lifestyles have seriously threatened people’s health.Based on the importance of people’s health, the state has formulated a series of health strategies and extensively carried out actions such as national fitness and reasonable diets. Therefore, the public is persuaded to take health measures.Lifestyle is of great significance to promoting the health of the whole people.Studies have shown that effective health information dissemination is an important factor that affects public health behaviors, and as the key transmission channel of health information,it is necessary to explore its effects on public health lifestyles. This study is based on the theory of the third-person effect, discussing from the two dimensions of physical exercise and healthy diet,a total of 509 valid questionnaires were collected, using the survey method. At the level of perception of third-person effects,.the study found that the higher the public’s attention to healthy lifestyle media information, the less the perception of third-person effects, that is,the more they believe that the impact of such information on oneself is greater than that on others;among the factors of difference, the study did not confirm the significant correlation between social distance and the intensity of the third-person effect in the healthy lifestyle information;in addition, the study found that age, gender, and income level have important predictive effects on the third-person effect.Men,older age groups, and higher-income groups tend to think that information about healthy lifestyles has a greater impact on themselves.Women, younger age groups, and lower-income groups tend to overestimate the impact of information on others. There is no difference in perception among groups of different education levels in this study. At the level of third-person effect behavior, the study found that the media’s indirect influence on the intention of healthy lifestyles. The public’s perception of the impact of healthy lifestyle media on self is positively correlated with their intention to exercise and healthy eating. The influence of information on others is positively correlated with the intention to eat healthy;in addition, the study found a positive correlation between the perception of first-person effect and the public’s intention to exercise, that is,the more people think that the influence of exercise information on themselves is greater than the influence of others, their behavioral intention to exercise will be stronger, but no correlation between perception differences and healthy eating intentions has been found. The research results have enriched the current demographic distribution of perception differences in healthy lifestyle information, expanded the research scope of the first-person effect in the field of health communication, and enhanced the interpretation of related research based on the third-person effect theory mechanism. In the formulation of media information dissemination strategies for healthy lifestyles, research suggests that the perception differences of different groups should be considered, and different information frameworks should be used to emphasize the importance of information to oneself and others,so as to enhance the public’s intention to adopt healthy lifestyles.
