FWHM Algorithm To Analyzeretinal Vessel Diameter Variation In Diabetic Retinopathy Patients

Objective To explore the association between the morphometry of retinal vessel and type 2diabetes mellitususing full width at half maximum(FWHM)analysi s of the retinal vascular structure in a spectral-domain optical coherence tomog raphy(SD-OCT)image.Methods Case control study.One hundred and forty type 2 diabetes patients are divided into NDR group(n=75)and DR group(n=65)according to the presence of diabetic retinopathy,and both groups use SD-OCT scanning the temporal sup erior retinal vessels in the zone B region of the right eye.Two groups using F WHM methods measured retinal vessel outer diameters,lumen diameters,wall th ickness,wall cross-sectional areaand,wall/lumen ratioin.Results NDR retinal arteriolar lumen diameter(RALD),group within retinal arter iolar outer diameter(RAOD),retinal arteriolar WT is[(104.88±15.68)、(135.60±17.22)、(15.26±2.56)μm],retinal arteriolar WLR is(0.29±0.06),retinal arteriolar WCS A is(5824.64±1330.07)μm~2.DR group RAOD,RALD,retinal arteriolar WT is[(128.80±36.00)、(147.01±17.55)、(18.29±5.97)μm],retinal arteriolar WLR is(0.28±0.05),retinal arteriolar WCSA is(6647.51±1590.52)μm~2.NDR group and DR g roup compared RAOD,RALD,retinal arteriolar WT,retinal arteriolar WCSA,the d ifference is statistically significant(P<0.05),and there is no significant differen ce in retinal arteriolar WLR(P=081).The retinal venular lumen diameter(RVLD),retinal venular outer diameter(RVOD),retinal venular WT of the NDR group a nd DR group is[(133.66±21.07)、(156.43±23.36)、(11.38±2.33)μm]and[146.17±34.42]、(180.20±38.70)、(17.01±4.23)μm],the difference is statistically significa nt(P<0.05).NDR group retinal venular WCSA(5987.98±1616.32)μm~2 is greate r less than the DR group(8962.13±3897.34)μm~2,and the difference is statisticall y significant(P<0.05);NDR group retinal venular(0.17±0.03)is less than t he DR group(0.23±0.05),and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion With the DR developed,the Retinal vessel diameter,the wall thickn ess and the wall cross-sectional area all increased.The duration of diabetes me llitus is not related to the diamemer of reinal vessel.
