| This study conducted a one-year(May 2021 to April 2022)experiment on Inner Mongolia Albas white cashmere goats to investigate the effects of different implantation modes of melatonin on the cashmere production performance and hair follicle growth cycle of Inner Mongolia cashmere goats. The skin tissue sections of the cashmere follicles of the control group, the annual melatonin implantation group, and the secondary melatonin implantation group were stained;Measurement of pile characteristics such as pile length, pile fineness, and pile yield;Further explore the effects of exogenous melatonin implantation on cashmere goats, providing theoretical basis for promoting growth and laying the foundation for increasing production and efficiency in cashmere goats, based on data such as melatonin and prolactin concentrations in the blood. The main research findings are as follows:(1)Hormone concentration in blood samples of the 12 months implantation group and control group was detected by enzyme immunoassay. The results showed that the MT content in blood of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P < 0.01).Blood PRL concentration in experimental groups was significantly lower than that in control group except November(P < 0.05).(2)The length, fineness and lint yield of villi samples in the buried group and the control group were statistically measured at 12 months, and the effect of melatonin on the cashmere production traits of cashmere goats was analyzed, and the results showed that the cashmere in the test I group and the test II group had grown about 1.4cm on the body surface at the end of June, which was two months earlier than the control group.Compared with the control group, the length of pile in the trial I group was significantly increased(P<0.01)in all months, and the total length of cashmere was increased by 2.02 cm and the fineness of the pile was significantly increased(P<0.05)in April of the following year.Compared with the control <group, the total length of cashmere increased by 1.63 cm in April of the following year, and there was no significant change in the fineness of the lint compared with the control group(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the annual yield of cashmere in the trial I group and the trial II group increased by 54% and 25%,respectively,and both experimental groups were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with trial II.,the annual yield of trial I group increased by 22%,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).In addition, the trial I group experienced secondary linting in November, while the other groups did not.(3)Hair follicle slices of skin tissue of experimental group and control group were prepared by HE staining method for 12 months, and the effects of melatonin on the growth cycle of secondary hair follicles were analyzed. The results showed that the number of secondary hair follicles in test groups I and Ⅱ was significantly higher than that in control group in May and June during the early growth period(P < 0.05).In February of the next year, the number of secondary hair follicles in test group I was significantly higher than that in control group(P < 0.05),and secondary hair follicle regrowth was obviously observed. In March and April of the next year, the epidermal layer of secondary hair follicles has grown obviously. The growth trend of test group Ⅱ and control group was the same.In conclusion, both annual embedding MT and secondary embedding MT could induce the growth and development of secondary hair follicles of cashmere goats two months earlier.Embedding MT mode throughout the year can significantly increase cashmere length, fineness, increase cashmere yield and induce secondary cashmere production in cashmere goats. The effects of secondary MT implantation on villus traits and hair follicle cycle were significant only in the early growth period, but there was no significant difference between the two groups in the later growth period. |
