Abstract/Summary:
This research is performed in order to assess the influence of taurine(Tau) supplementation on development/growth,the level of taurine in the body, and the food digestibility of coral reef fish(blue tang).Taurine was added to a diet that included soybean meal(which use in place of 40%of the fish meal)at the concentration of 0(control),0.2 g/kg,(little amount)0.4 g/kg(moderate amount),and 1.0 g/kg(high amount)of the meal. For comparison, all fish meal was also used in the experiment.Overall, five experimental meals were applied, and four test diets that were enriched with dietary taurine(0,0.2,0.4,and 1 g/kg taurine)were supplied to 3 groups of fish that were reared in a recirculating feeding system for twelve weeks.Fish length was 190.25±35.38 mm.The initial/original weight of each fish was 16.44±0.06 g.Fish were provided just fish meal and 1 g/kg dietary taurine, gained the maximum weight, whereas those fish fed meals lacking taurine(control)gained the lowest weight. The survival rate was described significantly similar among all feeding trials. The fish that were given a fish meal diet, along with 1.0 g/kg dietary taurine, had the maximum taurine level in muscle, whereas those fed 0,or 0.2 g/kg dietary taurine, had the lowest level. The food supplemented with taurine treatment(0.2 to 1.0 g/kg),showed greater lipid and dry matter/substance digestion, while the fish given a 0%taurine had the lowest digestion. Our investigation demonstrated that fish diet which is consist of soybean meal supplemented with 1.0 g/kg dietary taurine, cause improvement in growth rate and food digestion in blue tang.Nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)Metabolic approaches rely were used to find out whether the blue tang’s diet affected its health.~1H NMR spectroscopy analyzed by volcanic plots of control diet and taurine supplemented diet.Particularly, glutamine and proline levels increased in tang fish fed diets with more taurine and less fishmeal, while glucose levels decreased. This suggests that these tang fish were not getting enough of the nutrients they needed for growth and energy. The control diet helped the animals grow faster and raise their glucose levels significantly. The findings demonstrate that NMR-based metabolic technique is significant tool for studying aquaculture and fishing.According to the findings of this work, using taurine in the diet of blue tang coral reef fish may improve both their growth rate and the efficiency of their food intake. The research also found possible metabolic regulatory mechanisms which represent an association with activity of taurine. These mechanisms include the digestion of apparent dry material, fat, and protein,as well as growth, metabolism, and taurine absorption in the liver and muscle of fish. These results have significance not just for the aquaculture sector but also for the monitoring and sustainability of coral reef fish populations.
