South Xinjiang region is one of the major apple production bases in China,and its planting area and output occupy an important position in China’s apple production.However,there are some differences in the quality of apples in South Xinjiang,and the quality of some apples is not stable enough to meet the market demand.This needs to be explored and improved for apple quality in South Xinjiang region.The purpose of this paper is to investigate the grading method of South Xinjiang apples based on quality parameters.In view of the special growing environment of South Xinjiang apples and the large differences in quality parameters,an accurate and efficient grading method is needed.Firstly,this paper reviews the current research status of image processing,fruit defect detection and apple grading at home and abroad.Then,the main research contents and basic terms of digital image processing are introduced in detail,and the aspects of image processing and enhancement in apple grading system are described.In addition,the article discusses the basic working principles of automatic inspection systems based on image processing technology,as well as a detailed introduction of the hardware and software components of automatic apple grading systems.In terms of filtering and background segmentation of surface defect images and defect detection algorithms,the algorithms such as region growth algorithm,standard sphere gray scale model algorithm,and fuzzy C-mean clustering algorithm are compared,and a defect detection algorithm applicable to apples in South China is selected.For apple size and shape grading,this paper proposes apple size feature extraction and apple shape feature extraction methods,and uses the improved fuzzy C-mean clustering algorithm to grade apple size and dimensions.The experimental results show that the automatic grading method based on machine vision proposed in this study is effective.It has high accuracy and efficiency.In summary,this study explores an effective path in the field of apple grading,which is expected to provide strong support for agricultural product quality research and developing foreign markets.Therefore,the research in this paper is important for the quality control and marketing of apples in South Xinjiang. |
