In recent years, the resistivity method has emerged as a convenient and accessible technology for preliminary underground surveys and geological hazard research. The resistivity data obtained can supplement soil borehole data in geological hazard research. The resistivity is influenced by various factors, including soil mineralogy, particle size distribution, bulk density, porosity, and saturation.A proper understanding of the reasons behind these variations in resistivity can help establish correlations between parameters. In this paper,we review the first part of the resistivity model of sand, silt, and clay based on existing research. We focus on the development trend of model construction, analyzing different research content in different periods.Additionally,we summarize the advantages and disadvantages of resistivity measurement methods used in indoor experiments, and analyze the influence of soil temperature, dry density, moisture content, and other data collected in previous studies on soil resistivity. As water content is the most important factor affecting soil resistivity,we conduct data collection and modeling analysis based on it.Through parameter sensitivity analysis,we associate the saturation index and cementation coefficient in the Keller formula with the state and property parameters of soil, proposing a method to predict resistivity according to soil saturation. We verify the model’s correctness using data, and expand it by setting up an outdoor observation platform in the field. Then,We verify the formula’s correctness using field observation data, proposing a new model of resistivity, matric suction, and permittivity by using the relationship between volume water content and matric suction and permittivity constructed by previous scholars. Finally,we verify the model. In this paper,we sort out and analyze the typical current conduction model in soil.We establish the model based on the Archie and Keller formulas to analyze the physical significance of the parameters. After verifying the model through data,we further verify it using field observation data and associate resistivity with the properties of geotechnical engineering. This study is of great significance for discussing parameters and predicting soil properties through resistivity.
