Animal husbandry is an important part of agriculture,which is quite significant to increase farmers’ income and improve national life.Currently,domestic small-sized and medium-sized family ranches have a low level of informatization and intelligence,rely on manual management,and have the problems of high cost and low efficiency.Aiming at the problems existing in production of domestic small-sized and medium-sized family ranches,this paper designs and implements an economic and reliable intelligent pasture enclosure monitoring system,which applies the Internet of things technology to the production and management of ranches,in order to reduces the labor cost and improves the management level of ranches.The main content of this paper includes five aspects: the overall scheme design of the smart ranch enclosure monitoring system,the monitoring terminal design,the lightweight object detection algorithm design,the cloud platform software design and the system function test.Firstly,the paper proposed the overall scheme design of the system.The system is mainly composed of monitoring terminal and cloud platform.Multiple terminals can be deployed in a ranch enclosure to cover a wide range of enclosure space.The monitoring terminal collects and processes data from the site and interacts with the cloud platform.The design of the monitoring terminal is divided into two parts: hardware and software.In the hardware design of the monitoring terminal,this paper adopts edge computing gateway with Raspberry Pi 4B as the core,which connects a variety of hardware devices such as environmental monitoring sensors,cameras,4G/GNSS modules and so on;in the software design of monitoring terminal,the paper adopts Raspberry Pi embedded software system based on Linux,which analyzes and processes the enclosure environmental data,image data and GPS data collected by environmental monitoring sensors,cameras and 4G/GNSS modules,and transmits information to the cloud platform through 4G network.Aiming at the Raspberry PI embedded system based on Linux,this paper designs a lightweight object detection algorithm,which can detect the objects in the image collected by the camera without human intervention and identify abnormal objects such as people and fire,in order to prevent some security accidents in the enclosure.In the design of cloud platform,this paper designs the server software and client software.Users can interact with the server in client software such as website of PC platform and APP of mobile platform.In test of the system,this paper tests the function of the monitoring terminal and cloud platform.The hardware equipment of the monitoring terminal can operate normally,meanwhile collect and analyze data normally,then upload these data to the cloud platform.Through APP of mobile platform or website of PC platform,users can observe the data uploaded by Raspberry Pi to realize remote monitoring.
