The selection of garden plant varieties with strong water-saving and drought tolerance is of great significance to alleviate the contradiction between the tense urban water use and the landscaping water use.In this thesis, six woody garden plants with high ornamental value in Handan, namely,Weigelafloridacv.Red Prince,Cornus alba Linnaeus,Lagerstroemia indica L,Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng,Photinia ×fraseri and Acer truncatum Bunge, were used as experimental materials to study the morphological, physiological and biochemical responses of plants under drought stress by pot planting water control method.Through the application of fuzzy mathematical membership function method, the varieties with strong drought resistance among the six woody plants were selected,It provides a reference for the selection of garden greening varieties in semi-arid areas. The research results are as follows:(1)With the deepening of drought stress, the growth rate of plant height of Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng was the highest, reaching 2.61%,while the growth rate of plant height of Cornus alba Linnaeus was the lowest, only 1.36%.The ground diameter growth rate of Lagerstroemia indica L is the highest, reaching 6.25%,while that of Cornus alba Linnaeus is the lowest, only 3.31%.The drought index of Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng is the lowest, only 25.The appearance of Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng is the least affected by the drought. The drought index of Cornus alba Linnaeus is the highest, and the drought index is 99.Each plant has nearly withered and died.(2)With the deepening of drought stress, the water loss rate of Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng was the lowest, only 1.19%/h,and the Weigelafloridacv.Red Prince was highest,3.45%/h,at 20 days of drought stress. The leaf water content of Lagerstroemia indica L decreased by 5.84% the least, while the leaf water content of Weigelafloridacv.Red Prince decreased by 46.05% the most. The conductivity of Lagerstroemia indica L rose the least by 11.42%,while that of Cornus alba Linnaeus rose the most by 43.85%.The total chlorophyll content of Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng decreased the least, only 44.32%,and that of Cornus alba Linnaeus rosea decreased the most, reaching 82.8%.(3)With the deepening of drought stress, the contents of soluble protein, malondialdehyde and proline of 6 woody plants showed an upward trend.Among them, the soluble protein content of Lagerstroemia indica L rose the least, only 1.89mg/g,and the soluble protein content of Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng increased the most.Is 25.64mg/g.The accumulation of malondialdehyde in Acer truncatum Bunge was the smallest, only 7.33 μ Mol/g,the highest accumulation of malondialdehyde in Cornus alba Linnaeus is 12.32 μ mol/g。 The increase of proline in Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng was the highest(6.89 times),while that in Cornus alba Linnaeus was the lowest(0.88 times).(4)Through the comprehensive analysis of the morphological indicators and physiological and biochemical indicators obtained by the method of membership function, the order of drought resistance of the six woody garden plants was obtained as follows: Buxus sinica var.parvifolia M.Cheng > Photinia × fraseri >Lagerstroemia indica L > Acer truncatum Bunge > Weigelafloridacv.Red Prince >Cornus alba Linnaeus.
