The purpose of the experiment was to explore the effects of citrulline supplementation on the reproductive performance, lactation performance and lamb growth of Hu sheep ewes, and to provide a scientific basis for the application of citrulline in Hu sheep ewes.In the experiment,50 Hu sheep ewes with the same parity and gestation period of 30,60,90 and 120 days were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups with 25 animals in each group. The control group was fed the basal diet, and the experimental group was supplemented with citrulline 10g/d in the basal diet. The experiment was carried out until 45 days after the ewes gave birth.6 ewes were randomly selected from each group, and the jugular vein blood was collected on the 60 th,90th,120 th,141st,143 rd day of pregnancy and the morning feeding on the 15 th,30th,and 45 th days after delivery.Determination of milk yield and milk composition of ewes from 16 to 30 days after parturition. The body weight of the lambs was recorded, and blood was collected from the jugular vein of the lambs at the age of 15,30,and 45 days(09:30).The reproductive performance, lactation performance and growth of the lambs were determined. The result shows:(1)Supplementary feeding of citrulline to Hu sheep ewes at 30 days of pregnancy: Compared with the control group, the lactose rate of ewes in the experimental group increased significantly by 14.4%,18.5%,18%(P<0.01)and the milk protein rate by 17.4%,22%,and 15.7%,respectively,from 1 to 30 days after delivery(P<0.01).The birth weight, total weight gain and average daily gain of lambs in the experimental group were significantly increased by 26.2%,13.48%,25%(P<0.05),and the ALB content in plasma at 30 and 45 days of age were significantly increased by 9% and 16%,respectively(P<0.05).(2)Supplementary feeding of citrulline to Hu sheep ewes at 60 days of pregnancy: Compared with the control group, the milk fat rate of ewes in the experimental group was significantly increased by 11%,38%,and 19%(P<0.01)from 1 to 30 days after delivery, and the milk protein rate of 1 to 15 days after delivery was significantly increased by 23% and 13%,respectively(P<0.01).The PRL content in the plasma of the ewes in the experimental group was significantly increased by 31.4% on the 15 th day after delivery(P<0.05).The 45-day-old body weight, total weight gain and average daily weight gain of the experimental group lambs were significantly increased by 22%,26%,23.5%(P<0.01),and the IGF-I content in the 30-day-old plasma was significantly increased by 31%(P<0.01).(3)Supplementary feeding of citrulline to Hu sheep ewes at 90 days of pregnancy: Compared with the control group, the average daily milk yield of the ewes in the experimental group increased significantly by 20% from 16 to 30 days after delivery(P<0.01).The milk protein rate of the ewes in the test group was significantly increased by 20% on the first day after delivery(P<0.01)and the milk fat rate on the 7th to 30 th days was significantly increased by 21% and16.7% respectively(P<0.01).The plasma PRL content of the ewes in the experimental group was significantly increased by 167% on the 15 th day after delivery(P<0.01).The birth weight of lambs in the experimental group was significantly increased by 19.6%(P<0.01)and the content of IGF-I in the 15-day-old plasma was significantly increased by 27%(P<0.05).(4)Supplementary feeding of citrulline to Hu sheep ewes for 120 days of pregnancy:Compared with the control group, the average daily milk production of the ewes in the experimental group increased significantly by 34% from 16 to 30 days after delivery(P<0.01).The 45-day-old body weight, total weight gain and average daily gain of lambs in the experimental group were significantly increased by 12%,15.7%,and 13%,respectively(P<0.05).In conclusion, supplemental feeding of citrulline can improve the reproductive performance of ewes, improve the lactation performance of ewes, and promote the growth of lambs. In general, the addition of citrulline to the diet had positive effects on Hu sheep ewes at different gestation periods, which provided a reference value for the application of citrulline in Hu sheep ewes. |
