| RR-type MYB-related transcription factors(TFs)are diversified in function in plant development and stress responses.Lots of RR-type MYB-related TFs in Arabidopsis,Antirrhinum and rice, are identified and characterized. However, the complete RR-type MYB-related family has not been fully studied to date in tomato(Solanum lycopersicum L.).Herein,a genome-wide identification of tomato RR-type MYB-related TFs(Sl MYBR)was performed by bioinformatics to expand the classification of Sl MYBRs.The main results are as follows:(1)Thirteen Sl MYBRs were indentified and characterized in tomato and they were all unstable proteins, which were mainly distributed in the head or tail of chromosome.Subcellular localization results showed that they were located in the nucleus;(2)Sl MYBRs were divided into three groups. For the Group I and Group III,the phylogenetic tree was in accord with the evolutionary relationship of these species.Group II only contained the MYBRs from eudicots;(3)The promoters of Sl MYBRs contained multiple important ciselements related to abiotic stress or hormone responses.Through the analysis of transcriptome data,Sl MYBR genes had various temporal and spatial expression patterns;(4)Experiments of spraying exogenous hormone(GA,SA,ABA)demonstrated that the expression of most genes containing hormone response elements was changed, indicating that the expression patterns were associated with that the amount of cis-elements;(5)The Ca MV35S-driven overexpression vectors of Sl MYBR genes were constructed.Tomato ‘Micro-Tom’ was transformed by Agrobacterium-mediated method.Preliminary phenotypes of the transgenic plants were analyzed. It was found that the transgenic plants had light fruit color or light green leaves. The comprehensive investigation of tomato Sl MYBR genes in present study helps to understand clearly the evolution of RR-type MYB-related TFs,and provides a useful reference for further functional study of Sl MYBR genes in tomato. |
