| In the context of country’s increasing emphasis on the quality and safety of agricultural products,the development of the geographical indication protection system is getting better and better.Geographical indications indicate the geographical source of goods or services,guarantee the quality of products or services,improve product competitiveness,promote the development of national agriculture and rural economy,and are beneficial to the protection of Chinese cultural heritage.Geographical indications can encourage farmers and operators to increase the value of their products by investing in or selling high-quality product market technology.The specific production behavior of the farmers of geographical indication products affects the development of geographical indication products.This article is based on the micro sample survey data of Camellia oleifera farmers in Changning City,Hunan Province.Based on empirical analysis and related research literature and theories,the sample is divided into two groups,using the geographical indication group as the treatment group,the non-using geographical indication group as the control group,and whether the geographical indication is used as the core explanatory variable.Use the propensity score matching method PSM model to analyze the production behavior of farmers’ geographic indication products and the influencing factors that affect farmers’ use of geographic indications.The results show that: First,the gender of the head of the household,the educational level of the head of the household,the labor force,whether or not they have served as a village cadre,whether to join an organization,camellia oleifera planting mode,technical guidance,government subsidies,and recognition of geographical indications have a positive impact on the use of geographical indications by farmers.The age of the head of the household,the planting years of the head of the household,the source of income,and the planting area of Camellia oleifera have a negative impact on the use of geographical indications by farmers.Second,the use of geographical indications can help farmers to adopt environmentally-friendly technologies and apply environmentally-friendly fertilizers and pesticides;third,the use of geographical indications will increase farmers production costs and labor hours.Based on the research results obtained from the above empirical analysis,the following countermeasures are proposed:The first is to increase publicity and increase farmers’ recognition of geographical indications.The second is to strengthen government subsidies and professional technical guidance.The third is to increase the application rate of pollution-free pesticides and organic fertilizers for farmers.The fourth is to reduce the production cost and labor input of farmers. |
