Abstract/Summary:
African ostrich farming is a new industry in China in recent years and has broad prospects for development. At present, the ostrich feeding mode with concentrate + green feed has the problem that the harvesting and feeding of green feed cost more labor, and the quality is difficult to guarantee.Complete pellet feed is widely used in animal husbandry production because of its simple feeding,labor-saving,balanced nutrition, scientific safety, convenient circulation and storage.Hengzhou City,Guangxi is known as a land of Jasmine in China and the production center of Jasmine Tea,and the total annual output of jasmine flowers and jasmine tea accounts for more than 80% of the country.Jasmine residue is the waste of jasmine flower tea,how to rationally develop and utilize a large amount of jasmine residue is an urgent problem that needs to be solved. As a high-quality unconventional feed resource, jasmine residue has long been used in the production practice of pigs and dairy cows, but it has not been reported on the complete pellet feed of African ostriches. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the influence of feeding jasmine residue containing complete pellet feed on the growth performance, meat quality, intestinal digestive enzyme activity and intestinal microflora of African ostriches,so as to determine the appropriate addition amount of jasmine residue in full price pellet feed of African ostriches,so as to provide a scientific theoretical basis for the future development of jasmine dregs as special livestock and poultry feed, reduce feeding costs and improve the economic benefits of ostrich farms. The main findings of the study are as follows:1.Influence of feeding jasmine residue containing complete pellet feed on growth performance, body size index, blood routine, blood biochemical index, meat quality, meat nutrient content, and small intestinal digestive enzyme activity of African ostrich:30 African ostriches in the same batch,120 day old, healthy and similar weight were randomly divided into three groups, with 10 in each group. They were fed in columns: the control group was fed according to the traditional feeding form of ostrich farm, that is,mixed with concentrate + silage corn straw. In the second group,10% Jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder were added to prepare complete pellet feed.In the third group,20% Jasmine residue was added to prepare complete pellet feed. The trial period was 120 days.Slaughter sampling after the test is completed. The results showed that:(1)Compared with the control group, the complete pellet feed made of 10% Jasmine residue + 10%silage corn straw powder had no significant effect on the growth performance, body size index, blood routine, serum biochemical indexes and slaughter performance of African ostriches at the breeding stage, and the cost was the lowest.(2)In terms of meat quality, there was no significant difference in the p H,flesh color and shear force of the leg muscles of African ostriches in each group, and the intramuscular fat content of the 10% jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder group was significantly higher than that of the control group.(3)In terms of meat nutrients, there was no significant difference in the content of water, protein, amino acids, iron and zinc in the leg muscles of African ostriches in each group;the content of oleic acid in the leg muscles of the two groups with jasmine pomace added was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the content of selenium in the leg muscles of the 10% jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder group was significantly higher than that in the control group.(4)In the aspect of digestive enzyme activity of small intestine, the lipase activity of duodenum in the group supplemented with 10% Jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder was significantly higher than that in the control group; The activity of amylase in jejunum of the two groups with jasmine residue was significantly higher than that of the control group; The activities of lipase in jejunum and trypsin in ileum of 10% Jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder group were significantly higher than those of the control group.2.Influence of feeding jasmine residue containing complete pellet feed on the concentration of African ostrich ileum, cecum microflora and short-chain fatty acids:The ileum and cecum contents of three groups of ostriches were taken for 16 S r DNA sequencing and analysis, and the concentration of short-chain fatty acids was determined. The results showed that:(1)there were no significant differences in ileal microorganisms at the gate level and genus level between the groups of African ostriches, and the addition of 10% jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder to make complete pellet feed could change the ostrich cecum microflora and increase the Prevotellaceae_Ga6A1_group and the relative abundance of the unclassified_f__Lachnospiraceae.(2)10% jasmine pomace +10% silage corn straw powder complete pellet feed significantly increased the concentration of acetic acid in the ileum and cecum of African ostriches, significantly reduced the concentration of isobutyric acid in the cecum, and then improved the concentration of short-chain fatty acids in the ileum and cecum of African ostriches. In summary,10% jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder complete pellet feed does not affect the growth performance of African ostriches, reduces feeding costs, improves the intramuscular fat content of the leg muscle, improves the meat quality, improves the content of oleic acid and selenium in the leg muscle, improves the nutritional composition of ostrich meat, improves the activity of small intestinal digestive enzymes, and increases the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria in the cecum, improving the intestinal microbiota and its metabolism.Based on the analysis of the above indicators,in the 120-240 day old stage of African ostriches,10% jasmine residue + 10% silage corn straw powder complete pellet feed fed to African ostriches has the best effect, and the feeding cost is the lowest, and the development prospect is broad.
