Study On The Growth And Winter Performance Of Two Photinia Varities Of Introduced To Jinzhong Region

Abstract/Summary:
The plant species in Jinzhong area are monotonous,lacking evergreen and colorful tree species.Therefore,introduction can effectively increase the quality of the local landscape.Photinia × fraseri is a common color-leaf tree species in southern landscaping and has a good landscape effect.Therefore,this study tried to introduce Photinia × fraseri to improve the quality of plant landscape in Jinzhong.In this study,two years of growth cuttings of P.× Fraseri ’Red Robin’ and P.× fraseri ‘Robusta’ were used as experimental materials.Through the introduction test,the growth performance and overwintering performance of Photinia × fraseri in Jinzhong area were studied,and the relative physiological indexes of its leaves during the growing season and overwintering process were determined.The main results were as follows:(1)In terms of growth performance,there was a significant difference in the amount of lateral branch growth between the two varieties,and the growth performance of P.× fraseri ‘Red Robin’ was better than that of P.× fraseri ‘Robusta’.The physiological indexes of the two species of Photinia ×fraseri showed that the relative electrical conductivity of the leaves of P.× fraseri ‘Robusta’ was lower than that of P.× fraseri ‘Red Robin’.Meanwhile,the relative electrical conductivity of the leaves of P.× fraseri ‘Red Robin’ was significantly different between individuals and negatively correlated with the growth of lateral branches.The lateral branch growth of the two varieties of Photinia × fraseri was positively correlated with starch content in leaves.(2)In terms of overwintering performance,the physiological indexes of two species of Photinia× fraseri showed that the relative electrical conductivity,soluble sugar content and chlorophyll content of P.× fraseri ‘Red Robin’ were lower than that of P.× fraseri ‘Robusta’,and the soluble protein content was higher than that of P.× fraseri ‘Robusta’.
