| The leafhopper subfamily Aphrodinae is one of small subfamilies of Cicadellidae,with 13 genera and 265 species all round the world(containing 2 fossil genera and 2 fossil species)and2 genera and 21 species in China.Members of Aphrodinae are distributed over Palaearctic region,Nearctic,Oriental region,Afrotropical and Australian.In this paper,Aphrodinae from china is reviewed and the chinese fauna includes 42 species of 13 genera,including 3 new reocrded genera: Anoscopus Kirschbaum,Planaphrode Hamilton and Stroggylocephalus Flor n.rec.,and 7 new recorded species: Aphrodes diminuta Ribaut(Xinjiang,Hebei),Anoscopus albiger(Germar)(Xinjiang),Stroggylocephalus agrestis(Fallén)(Heilongjiang,Fujian),Planaphrodes bella Choe(Heilongjiang),Xestocephalus cognatus Choe(Guizhou),Xestocephalus asper Linnavuori(Hunan,Zhejiang,Guangdong),Xestocephalus ishidae Matsumura(Guangxi,Yunnan,Hainan)n.rec.Two new species of the genus Planaphrode: P.arundosis sp.nov.(Sichuan)and P.faciems sp.nov.(Hubei)are described.The genus Xestocephalus is the most species rich and inluding 32 species from China,of which twelve are new: X.chinensis sp.nov.(Hainan),X.gladius sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.tenusis sp.nov.(Guangxi),X.caninitus sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.chrysanthemum sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.exproiecturus sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.bamboopenis sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.limpidissimus sp.nov.(Fujian,Zhejiang,Guizhou),X.antispinam sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.anguis sp.nov.(Yunnan),X.duobarbus sp.nov.(Guangxi)and X.radiculus sp.nov.(Yunnan).All observed species are described and illustrated.A world Checklist with taxonomic notes as well as a generic key to Chinese Aphridinae are also provided.The type specimens of new species are all deposited in Northwest A&F University(NWAFU). |
