With the rapid development of information and communication technology, traditional grids have gradually transformed into smart grids. As a new type of intelligent network optimizing power service, the smart power grid has changed the cumbersome traditional power service mode, built a flexible and efficient communication network, and can provide users with two-way interactive power service.Compared with traditional grids, smart grid users can obtain real-time information such as their own electricity consumption and grid electricity prices to reasonably arrange the use time of electrical appliances.Power companies can also obtain real-time information about users’ electricity consumption to maintain the dynamic balance of power supply. The two-way communication service of smart grid faces problems such as tampering with interactive information, leakage, and high communication cost.In the metering data collection scenario, the control center sends requests to the smart meter, and the smart meter returns real-time metering data to the control center. However,in the process of data transmission, malicious entities may threaten the supply and demand balance of the power grid and the privacy of users through attacks such as identity forgery. Therefore, the smart grid communication network should adopt the identity authentication and privacy protection mechanism, while controlling the communication overhead and computing cost.In order to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of measurement data, the main contributions of this paper are summarized as follows:(1)In view of the security, privacy and other problems that may occur when smart grid collects users’ real-time measurement data,a physical unclonable function(PUF)-based lightweight authenticated metering data collection scheme with privacy(PAC)is proposed.Based on lightweight cryptographic techniques such as physical unclonable functions, the scheme realizes identity authentication and privacy protection of metering data in data collection request phase, data encryption phase and data decryption phase.(2)In view of the security, privacy and resource limitations that may occur when the smart grid collects a large number of user metering data simultaneously,a PUF-based lightweight group authenticated metering data collection scheme with privacy protection in smart grid(PGAC).In this scheme, lightweight cryptographic technologies such as physical unclonable function are used to realize group authentication function of smart meters in the control center. The security analysis shows that the scheme can realize the mutual authentication among the control center, gateway and smart meter, and can ensure the confidentiality of metering data.Performance analysis shows that this scheme has low communication cost and better practicability.
