As one of the three basic projects of the mine, the tailings pond is an indispensable production project for mining enterprises. For a long time, safety accidents of tailings pond have occurred frequently, which poses a great threat to the lives and property of downstream people and the surrounding environment. Therefore,it is great significance to carry out research on dam-break debris flow of tailings pond.In this thesis, the granular flow model based on fluid theory is used to study the dam-break debris flow of tailings pond. The simulation results of the granular flow model are compared with the measured data of the dam-break prototype and the indoor test data respectively, and the applicability and accuracy of the granular flow model to the dam-break debris flow simulation of tailings pond are verified. On this basis, the particle flow model is used to simulate the velocity, accumulation thickness and submerged range of debris flow in a proposed tailings dam,and the movement law of debris flow is obtained. The results of this thesis can provide scientific guidance for disaster prevention and mitigation in the downstream of tailings pond. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows :(1)The granular flow model based on fluid theory is introduced. The model is based on the continuity equation and motion equation of fluid mechanics. The strong coupling between solid particles and surrounding fluid can be fully considered. The debris flow is regarded as a homogeneous granular flow.(2)In order to verify the simulation effect of granular flow model based on fluid theory in the calculation of dam-break debris flow in tailings pond,a threedimensional granular flow model of dam-break debris flow is established by taking an actual dam-break tailings pond in China as an example. The calculated value of the final submerged range of debris flow is compared with the measured value, and the calculated value is in good agreement with the measured value. The granular flow model can be used to simulate the dam-break debris flow of tailings pond.(3)In order to verify the accuracy of the granular flow model based on the fluid theory in the calculation of the movement process of the tailings dam-break debris flow, the dam-break indoor model and the three-dimensional numerical model of the granular flow dam-break are established to study the evolution law of the dam-break debris flow, and the evolution process of the debris flow calculated by the granular flow is compared with the experimental value, which verifies that the model has good accuracy.(4)Taking a proposed tailings pond as an example,a three-dimensional numerical model of granular flow dam break is established. The velocity, accumulation thickness and submerged range of dam break debris flow are analyzed, and the movement law of dam break debris flow is obtained.Through the maximum evolution distance and submerged range data of dam-break debris flow,it is concluded that dam-break debris flow does not impact downstream villages. The results of this thesis provide a scientific basis for disaster prevention and mitigation in the downstream of the tailings pond.
