The development of intelligent networked technology will promote intelligent vehicles to experience two stages of connected assisted driving and connected autonomous driving.Connected assisted driving vehicles only have connected driving function but not autonomous driving function,while connected autonomous driving vehicles have both connected driving function and autonomous driving function.Both types of connected vehicles can form flexible platoons with the help of intelligent networked technology.The closed road structure of the basic section of freeway and the characteristics of continuous traffic flow will make the two types of connected vehicles and the regular vehicles drive together in the future for a long time,forming the connected vehicles mixed traffic flow of the basic section of freeway(referred to as mixed traffic flow).It has become a research hotspot to analyze the impact of connected platoons and dedicated lanes on the efficiency of the mixed traffic flow.In this paper,the mixed traffic flow capacity analysis and lane management strategy to carry out research.First,based on the analysis of the flow capacity of single-lane mixed traffic on freeway,the fundamental diagram model of mixed traffic flow with two types of connected platoons is constructed,and the flow capacity analysis method of single-lane mixed traffic on freeway is proposed.The effects of different penetration rates of connected autonomous driving vehicles,connected assisted driving vehicles,connected autonomous driving platoon size and connected assisted driving platoon size on the single-lane mixed traffic flow capacity of freeways were analyzed.Then,aiming at the two-lane mixed traffic flow lane management strategy of freeway,considering the vehicle arrival demand and the supply of road capacity,an analysis method for the management strategy of the mixed traffic flow of the two-lane freeway is proposed.As the goal,the optimal lane management strategy for two-lane mixed traffic flow on freeways is analyzed under the conditions of different traffic demands and penetration rates of two types of connected vehicles.Once more,aiming at the multi-lane mixed traffic flow lane management strategy of freeway,the mixed traffic flow lane management strategy is extended to the general scene of multi-lane,and a general analysis method for the multi-lane mixed traffic flow lane management strategy of the freeway is proposed.Finally,taking the three-lane mixed traffic flow scene on the freeway as a case,the optimal lane management strategy for three-lane mixed traffic flow on freeway under different traffic conditions is analyzed,and the generality of the proposed multi-lane mixed traffic flow lane management strategy on the freeway is verified analytical method effectiveness.The research results show that when the combined traffic capacity of a single lane on the freewayway is taken as the optimization objective,the case analysis of the capacity of a single lane on the freeway shows that when the optimal platoon size of the connected assisted driving platoon is 5-7 vehicles,and the optimal platoon size of the connected autonomous driving platoon is 7-9 vehicles,the road capacity improvement effect is the most significant.In the case analysis of the two-lane freeway scenario,there are four types of lane management strategies.When the penetration rate of connected vehicles is small,a regular vehicle lane should be set up under low,medium and high traffic demand conditions.When the penetration rate of connected vehicles is high,under the medium and low traffic demand conditions,a dedicated lane for connected vehicles can be set up or not,and under high-traffic demand conditions,a dedicated lane for connected vehicles should be set up.In the case analysis of the three-lane freeway scenario,there are five lane management strategies and eight types of lane composition.The optimal number of dedicated lane for connected vehicles will increase with the increase of connected vehicles permeability and traffic demand.When the penetration rate of connected vehicles is small,one or two lanes dedicated to regular vehicles can be set up under low and high traffic demand conditions,and two lanes dedicated to regular vehicles can be set up or not set up under medium traffic demand conditions dedicated lane.When the penetration rate is high,under low and medium traffic demand conditions,two lanes dedicated to connected vehicles can be set or not,and under conditions of high traffic demand,two lanes dedicated to connected vehicles should be set up.So as to improve the efficiency of road traffic.The research method proposed in this paper can effectively analyze the capacity of the mixed traffic flow of the single lane connected platoon on the freeway,and the lane management strategy of the mixed traffic flow of the two-lane and multi-lane connected platoon on the freeway.The research results can provide an analysis method for the lane setting and traffic flow management under the background of mixed traffic flow of freeway connected platoons in the future.
