| The "14th Five-Year Plan" period is a critical period and window period for reaching carbon peak.We should accelerate the construction of a clean,low-carbon,safe and efficient energy system,implement actions to replace renewable energy.Thanks to the breakthrough of key technologies such as digitalization and artificial intelligence,new energy enterprises have become an important starting point to achieve "carbon peak".In the critical period of rapid economic development,maintaining technological innovation and independent R&D capabilities of enterprises is a key driving force to promote performance improvement and foothold in the fierce market competition.The core element of technological innovation lies in people,and the foundation of independent R&D ability lies in investment.As the core of technological innovation and enterprise management,how will technical executives play a role in the process of maintaining and improving the operating efficiency of enterprises,and what means enterprises can use to achieve the purpose of improving business efficiency.These have become the focus of academic attention.This study takes new energy enterprises,which are the focus of the "14th Five-Year Plan",as the research object.And selects the technical executives who are most closely related to the technological innovation of enterprises,selects the R&D investment that plays an important role in promoting the independent R&D ability of enterprises,and selects the enterprise performance that measures the operating efficiency of enterprises as the main research variables,and explores the relationship among the main variables.And on this basis,it provides reference suggestions for improving the performance level of new energy enterprises.To achieve the research objectives,this paper is guided by high-level management theory and human capital theory,etc.The age,education background,tenure and proportion of technical executives are selected to measure characteristics of technical executives,the R&D investment is measured by R&D investment intensity,and return on equity is used to measure the enterprise performance,This article uses literature research method,normative analysis method,and empirical analysis method,then based on the existing research,the research hypothesis and theoretical model of this paper are proposed.Then,the data of listed new energy enterprises from 2017-2021 were collected and the empirical analysis was completed with the assistance of Excel and Stata 15.0 software to verify the above hypotheses and models.Finally,the reliability and strength of explanatory power of the previous regression results were tested by replacing variables regression and grouping regression analysis,and it was concluded that the study results all passed the robustness test.The results show that:(1)In the relationship between characteristics of technical executives and the performance of new energy enterprises,it is concluded that the age of technical executives has a significant negative impact on the performance of new energy enterprises,while the educational background,tenure and proportion of technical executives have a significant positive impact on the performance of new energy enterprises;(2)In the relationship between characteristics of technical executives and R&D investment,it is found that the age of technical executives negatively affects R&D investment,while the educational background,tenure and proportion of technical executives have significant positive effects on R&D investment;(3)R&D investment has a significant positive impact on the performance of new energy enterprises;(4)R&D investment plays a partial mediating role in the process that characteristics of technical executives affect the performance of new energy enterprises.Finally,combined with the research conclusions,some suggestions are put forward for the performance improvement of China’s new energy enterprises. |
