| With the proposal of the "dual carbon" strategic goal,China’s industrial development has gradually transformed from high pollution and high energy consumption to low emission and green,and the new energy vehicle industry,as a strategic emerging industry in China,shoulders the important task of realizing the green development and low-carbon development of the automotive industry.In recent years,China has also introduced a number of preferential tax policies to stimulate the innovation and development of the new energy automobile industry,aiming to cultivate the innovation ability and core competitiveness of enterprises.By examining how and to what extent the tax burden affects new energy vehicle enterprises,this paper puts forward relevant countermeasures and suggestions for optimizing the current tax policy and promoting the innovation and development of the new energy automobile industry.Based on the relevant data of China’s listed new energy vehicle enterprises from 2017 to2021,this paper uses the multiple regression two-way fixed effect model to examine the impact of corporate tax burden on the operation and innovation development of new energy vehicles.The results are as follows: First,the tax burden has a significant negative impact on the operating performance(operating income growth rate)and R&D innovation enthusiasm(R&D investment intensity)of new energy vehicle enterprises,that is,the increase of tax burden is not conducive to the business development and innovation development of enterprises.Second,the increase in tax burden has had a significant negative impact on the growth rate of operating income of battery motor manufacturing enterprises in the upstream of the new energy industry and downstream vehicle manufacturing enterprises and charging pile enterprises.At the same time,the increase in tax burden will have a significant negative impact on the R&D investment intensity of upstream battery motor manufacturers and downstream vehicle manufacturers.In addition,whether it is business performance or R&D investment,the increase in tax burden has a greater impact on battery motor manufacturers than other types of enterprises.Third,as the financing constraints faced by enterprises increase,the negative impact of tax burden on the operating performance and R&D investment enthusiasm of new energy vehicle enterprises will be aggravated.Fourth,by summarizing the international tax practice of the new energy vehicle industry,it is found that these countries have given a large number of preferential tax policies from the supply side and the demand side,which are used to encourage the R&D and innovation,production and sales,and guide and encourage household consumption of new energy vehicles,thereby promoting the green innovation and sustainable development of the entire new energy vehicle industry.To this end,to enhance the strength and international competitiveness of China’s new energy vehicles,it is necessary to encourage enterprise research and development and improve the enterprise research and development team;Stimulate residents’ car purchase consumption and increase tax incentives in the second-hand market of new energy vehicles;Reduce the tax burden of the supporting facilities industry and make up for the shortcomings of infrastructure;Increase tax incentives and support for financing. |
