As cities continue to grow and population density increases,many residential buildings have to be built next to major transportation routes.Busy road traffic leads to serious noise pollution,and exterior windows are usually the weak link of sound insulation on building facades,affecting the quality of the acoustic environment of green buildings.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out research on the sound insulation performance of external windows in order to better improve the residential acoustic environment.In this paper,the factors affecting the sound insulation performance of external windows are analyzed.The calculation method of sound insulation,a method for predicting the sound insulation performance of building exterior windows is proposed,including:(1)The influence of glass and cavity on the sound insulation of the external window is analyzed,and the theoretical calculation and analysis of the effects of glass thickness,glass structure,air layer thickness and inert gas on the sound insulation performance are carried out.The results show that the sound insulation performance of the glass increases with the thickness of the glass and the thickness of the air layer;the sound insulation performance of the double-layer glass filled with inert gas is better than that of the air;for double-glazed glass with a total glass thickness of 12 mm,the glass combination of 3.38(PVB)+12A+9.38(PVB)can meet the 35 d B requirement while saving materials.(2)The sound insulation performance of the whole window of three specifications of aluminum-plastic windows was experimentally measured.Considering the engineering quantity and cost,the sound insulation performance of eight kinds of glass specimens was also measured using standing wave tube method,and the experimental results were analyzed.Based on the above experimental results,other sound insulation experimental data were also investigated,and the impact of different window frame types on the sound insulation performance of external windows was analyzed in combination with the survey data and sound insulation experimental results.The results show that the window frame has a significant impact on the sound insulation of the external window,adding wooden window frames will significantly reduce the sound insulation performance above the frequency range of 1250 Hz,and adding aluminum-plastic window frames will significantly reduce the sound insulation in the frequency range of 500-3 150 Hz.(3)In this paper,the sound insulation performance of building external windows is regarded as the combined sound insulation performance of the window frame and glass structure,and a method for predicting the sound insulation performance of the whole window is proposed.This method takes advantage of the convenience of calculating the sound insulation performance of the glass structure,and calculates the virtual sound insulation performance of the corresponding window frame from the experimental data of the sound insulation performance of the building’s exterior windows and the sound insulation performance of the glass structure.The prediction results are verified,and the results show that the whole window sound insulation performance prediction method proposed in this paper can better predict the whole window sound insulation performance of different specifications of glass under the same window frame,this method can obtain not only the sound insulation performance of different frequencies but also the weighted sound insulation index of the whole window.This method can be better used to guide the development of different combinations of building exterior windows.
