Research On The Expression And Application Of Glass Light And Shadow Art In Public Space

As the public’s demand and expectation for public space continue to rise over the past few decades,the design of new public space with simultaneous innovation in functionality,artistry,and interactivity has become the future development trend.Among them,the rational use of materials is one of the essential means of public space design,and the deep excavation and development of material language is undoubtedly an important development direction for public space innovation.Glass as an exemplary material in modern design that is economically and friendly,with its transparent and light-permeable material properties,allows "light" and "shadow" to show excellent expressiveness and value in the space.They can be both the carrier to express the image of space and the main body to create the atmosphere of room and can give a more profound artistic connotation to area.Therefore,this paper conducts an in-depth study of glass light and shadow as a separate form of artistic presentation,combining case studies and creative practice to explore the expression and application effects of glass light and shadow art in public space,and to provide a reference for the future innovative development of this field.Firstly,this article expounds on the fundamental theories related to glass,glass light and shadow,and public spaces,clarifying the basic concept of glass light and shadow art and delineating the scope of the research content in this article.Secondly,this article uses the modeling,color,and texture of glass light and shadow as entry points,employing the analytical methods of imagery to transform abstract glass light and shadow into concrete pattern combinations.It analyzes the formal language,compositional expression,and interactive relationships of glass light and shadow art when intervening in public spaces,exploring the design advantages of glass light and shadow art in public spaces and analyzing its application status in public spaces,affirming the important role and research value of glass light and shadow art in the innovation of public space design.Next,the author takes the establishment of connections between glass light and shadow,the public,and public spaces as the starting point,unfolding relevant design research,and actively summarizing the design objectives,design ideas,and design strategies for applying glass light and shadow art in public spaces.This provides a new direction for designing public spaces with "Publicizes," "Artistry," and "Humanity".Finally,based on my understanding of the application of glass light and shadow art in public space,the author selects the public area of commercial complexes,mainly record stores and coffee shops,for renovation and design,aiming to use glass light and shadow art to create a shared space with novel forms,rich language,and spiritual and cultural connotations.From a certain perspective,the combination of glass light and shadow art and public space is a new exploration of public space,which becomes a design means to enrich public space and provides a powerful element to supplement public space.At the same time,glass light and shadow art,as a "virtual" medium,provides a new form of interaction between light,glass,space and audience.Glass light and shadow art and public space design depend on each other,limit each other,interact,and develop together,and jointly promote the integration and progress of the whole industry.
