| Under the background of rural revitalization strategy, the number of rural homestays has been increasing year by year. However, current design practice of rural homestays focuses more on the renovation and updating of architectural style and function, while ignoring the improvement of indoor physical environment. In order to enhance the habitant comfortability, occupants often use air conditioning and other equipment to regulate the indoor environment, which will increase the energy consumption and burden the local rural ecological environment, and contrary to the national low-carbon buildings strategy. This thesis investigates the indoor physical environment of rural homestays from two perspectives: bottom-up and top-down.Firstly,it is interpreted the concerns and satisfaction of the living experience of rural homestays from the perspective of users, and based on the Content Analysis of online reviews using method of Grounded theory, typical network evaluations of rural homestays are selected and analyzed with secondary coding.Through IPA analysis,it reveals that the index of "indoor physical environment and comfort" has the lowest satisfaction level among the four primary tags, which indicates that in the renovation design of rural homestays, there is a need to pay more attention to the indoor physical environment.Secondly, based on the field research of rural residences buildings in Deqin,Yunnan, field tests were carried out on the indoor physical environment of a typical residential building in winter and summer, the existing problems of the indoor physical environment are quantitatively described from the designer’s perspective, and the APMV(Adaptive Predicted Mean Vote)value is calculated with a survey, and the thermal neutral temperature of tourists and local residents is determined through linear regression to evaluate the indoor physical environment and tourists’ thermal adaptation ability. The analysis reveals that the thermal comfort of traditional rural residences is higher in summer than in winter, and the indoor lighting environment is not ideal in both seasons. Finally, based on the field research results, there are some suggestions about traditional rural residences into homestays are proposed from the perspective of improving the indoor physical environment, including updating the spatial layout, adopting new rammed earth wall and roof structure to optimize the enclosure interface, and adopting passive solar design strategy in the south-facing corridor and courtyard. With the support of numerical simulation, the final design solution that facilitates the comprehensive enhancement of the indoor physical environment was completed. |
