With the development of biomimetic and superwetting surface technologies, different biomimetic structures have been investigated and prepared to explore effective fog collection strategies to alleviate the water scarcity problems faced by the world today. This paper introduces natural organisms with different special wettability structures and explores the basic principles of biological fog collection in nature. And from the surface wettability theory, the recent development of biomimetic fog collection structures is analyzed with the aim of exploring how to easily and efficiently prepare fog collection structures with realistic significance. This work involved different substrates selection and the construction of microforms, compositional and theoretical analysis and performance testing. The primary contents of the work are outlined below.(1)A slippery framework based on stainless steel mesh was obtained after a two-step electrochemical reaction, annealing, low surface energy treatment, and lubricants injection. After a series of stability tests, the lubricant-infused framework exhibited excellent resistance to high-temperature cycling, acid and alkali,anti-shear,anti-corrosion as well as excellent lubricant retention. The results show that the prepared framework has outstanding water collection performance with an improvement of 79.3% compared to the original sample, which provides a new idea for fog collection applications of lubricant-infused slippery structures and adds to the alleviation of the current water shortage.(2)The copper myristate flowerlike cluster structure was grown directly on the porous copper foam wire wall by the in-situ reaction, thus directly obtaining the superhydrophobic framework, and the lubricant-infused three-dimensional framework was obtained after lubricant injection. The superhydrophobic properties of the copper myristate structure and the large number of cavities provided by the dense micro/nano cluster structure impart excellent lubricant retention to the three-dimensional framework. The framework also offers excellent droplet capture, droplet coalescence growth and droplet removal,as well as significant anti-icing and antifouling properties. This work simplified the preparation process and the reaction conditions were easily satisfied. The prepared lubricant-infused framework has excellent fog collection performance,98.7% better compared to the original sample, and has the potential to be prepared in large quantities. It provides a new idea for the efficient and rapid preparation of lubricantinfused fog collection structures.
