| This paper first introduces the development history of generator excitation system,as well as the application and development of power system stabilizer PSS,introduces the theory of low-frequency oscillation of power system,expounds the generation mechanism and suppression measures of low-frequency oscillation,explains the basic principle of power system stabilizer,and introduces the types of several major types of power system stabilizers in the current industry: PSS1 A,PSS2A,PSS2 B,PSS3B and PSS4 B,as well as their respective structural characteristics and mathematical models.Then,according to the hypothesis of a single-machine infinity system,the stand-alone infinity model is derived from the theory in detail,a simulation model based on the Heffron-Philip transfer function block is established,and the theoretical analysis and effect test are carried out in combination with PSS1 A,which confirms that PSS can achieve the application principle of suppressing low-frequency oscillation.Through a large number of literature references,it is found that the design and use of PSS4 B multi-band parallel structure and the use of two inputs make regulation difficult,and most of the PSS improvement research focuses on the study of algorithms,however,this paper starts from the device structure,introduces the idea of PSS4B-New to improve performance by adding new additional branch compensation,and then establishes a stand-alone infinity system to verify the necessity of additional branch compensation,and establishes a multi-machine simulation model,sets mechanical power mutation,Disturbances such as sudden change in excitation reference voltage,three-phase short-circuit fault,single-phase short-circuit fault,etc.,plus disturbance at the starting time of the generator,and then compare the performance of traditional PSS2 B,PSS4B and PSS4B-New by observing the generator coefficient under these five disturbance conditions.In order to further examine the performance of PSS4B-New,a high-voltage direct current transmission system was established,and the improved PSS4 B was applied to the system,compared with PSS2 B,PSS4B without PSS,and the performance comparison analysis in different situations was discussed. |
