In recent years,in order to meet the increasing traffic demand and improve road capacity,new wide embankment projects have increased.On the other hand,soft soil is widely distributed in China.Due to the particularity of soft soil,the embankment height significantly affects the settlement and stability of soft soil foundation.Mechanical behavior of wide high embankment on soft soil foundation is more special and complicated.Therefore,it is necessary to study the mechanical response of wide high embankment on soft soil foundation and propose appropriate treatment methods.Plastic drainage plate is affordable and can effectively reduce post-construction settlement by accelerating drainage efficiency,but it has great influence on stability during construction.Although cement-soil mixing pile is expensive,it has remarkable effect in improving the stability and safety of embankment structures.If the two can be combined for the comprehensive treatment of wide high embankment on soft soil foundation,it can effectively play their respective roles.Based on the refined numerical simulation,this paper discussed some key technical problems in the comprehensive treatment of wide high embankment on soft soil foundation with plastic drainage plate and cement-soil mixing pile.The main work was as follows:(1)Using the finite element software PLAXIS,four groups of finite element models of narrow low embankment,wide low embankment,narrow high embankment and wide high embankment on soft soil foundation were constructed.The changes of stability safety,soil settlement,lateral displacement and excess pore water pressure in soft soil foundation under various working conditions were analyzed when the geometric parameters of embankment width and height changed,so as to lay the foundation for the scientific proposal of subsequent foundation treatment measures.(2)Using the finite element software PLAXIS,four groups of finite element models with foundation treatment were established,which were all treated by cement-soil mixing pile,all treated by plastic drainage plate,plastic drainage plate in the middle of the embankment + cement-soil mixing pile on both sides of the embankment and cement-soil mixing pile in the middle of the embankment + plastic drainage plate on both sides of the embankment.By comparing the stability safety factor,the settlement of the foundation surface during construction,the settlement of the foundation surface after construction and the excess pore water pressure with no treatment measures,the effectiveness of the treatment of wide high embankment with plastic drainage plate in the middle of the embankment +cement-soil mixing pile on both sides was demonstrated.The working mechanism of the comprehensive treatment scheme was discussed from the perspective of excess pore water pressure distribution in soft soil foundation.(3)For the wide high embankment,when the plastic drainage plate is applied in the middle of the embankment and the cement-soil mixing pile is implemented on both sides of the embankment,the determination method of the proportion of the suitable treatment range of the plastic drainage plate and the cement-soil mixing pile is proposed.Combined with the engineering example of Sanya Station of Hainan East Ring Railway,the PLAXIS finite element software was used to carry out the parameter analysis on the different proportion of plastic drainage plate and cement-soil mixing pile in treatment ranges.It is confirmed that the proportion of the plastic drainage plate and the cement-soil mixing pile in this project is between 2 : 3 and 4 : 1,which is consistent with the final design scheme of the design unit.The on-site monitoring results of this site show the scientificity of the determination method proposed in this paper.The research results obtained in this paper have certain guiding significance for further enriching the construction technology of embankment on soft soil foundation and scientifically developing the design of wide high embankment on soft soil foundation.
